What causes people to be gay? Is it a mental disorder? Is it a personal choice? Is homophobia even really an issue? Do you think homophobia is even an issue? Whats YOUR stance?

A lot of people claim to not be homophobic, but cringe at the sight of gay PDA. The idea of it isnt too bad for them, but the reality of it- they actually do have a problem with. And then there are some people that have almost no exposure to it, and therefore cant make an educated decision about their stance but claim to be for/against it anyways. In anonymous interviews, heres what the most common responses wer

There can be a number of reasons. Some people are born with it. Others have an event in their life that makes them unable to trust the opposite sex. There can be many psychological reasons- aside from mental disorders- why people are/become gay. And then there are others that just think about things differently and dont realize what makes the same sex unavailable. Some people become frustrated with the opposite sex and just give up on it. Some people (transgender) feel more comfortable as the opposite sex and being gay is a way of identification for them. People may be introduced to homosexuality and see its preferable. Some people are lucky enough to be born feeling this way, but what about the others? The people that change. Some people have this idea in their head about what life should be like and its a big shock when they find out that its nothing like they imagined.
