STEEL & TIMBER BEAM/LINTEL DESIGN

This Excel macro program is used to design steel or timber beam/lintel. Two options are available. For simply supported beams, you can input point loads (up to 5) and uniformly distributed loads (up to 4) at any location. For other support conditions and multi-span beam, you need to work out the design bending moments M*DL and M*LL first. After inputting the loading & deflection limits, click one of the option buttons to select the beam material (UB, PFC, 'T' sections steel and F-grade timber, LVL, MGP-grade timber are available). Then enter design parameters in the highlighted cells. For help in selecting the design parameters, click the corresponding cell and online help will appear on the screen. If you have any problems, please contact Dr Jie Li on (08) 83630222.
