WOODBURY ROAD LANDSCAPE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

Dear Neighbor: The County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works is pleased to inform you of an upcoming landscape improvement project in your neighborhood. The project is located on Woodbury Road from Windsor Avenue to Santa Anita Avenue within the County unincorporated community of Altadena. Please see map on back of flyer for project limits. The project cost will be financed with County funds, and will be built at no cost to the adjacent property owners. The project consists of the installation of flowering trees and plants, groundcover, new irrigation systems, and decorative pavers within existing roadway medians. The median curb and gutter will be reconstructed to meet current standards. The intersection of Woodbury Road and Casitas Avenue will be reconstructed. The median width between Windsor Avenue and Glenrose Avenue will be reduced by 4 feet to accommodate a new bike lane in both directions of Woodbury Road within the project limits. During the reconstruction of the intersection of Woodbury Road and Casitas Avenue, traffic on Casitas Avenue will not be able to cross Woodbury Road for approximately 2 weeks. Also, the work fronting Andrew Jackson Elementary School will be completed during summer recess. Access to the properties within the project limits will be maintained during construction, however, some traffic delays may be anticipated as Woodbury Road will be reduced to one traffic lane in each direction between the construction hours from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Additional information will be provided to adjacent residents and businesses prior to the start of construction including the names and telephone numbers of Public Works personnel to contact regarding construction activities. Construction is tentatively scheduled to start in the summer of 2012 and will take approximately 5 months to complete.
