Outreach for the Church Empowering Churches to Win Back the World Current attendance is no indication of the possible future attendance As the Earth grows and changes... so should the media of the message (message always remains the same though it may take a different vessel) Change the venue (the last thing you want is for the building and its contents to become white noise) As technology grows, you are provided with more powerful mediums for communication and outreach - USE THEM Accommodate ALL of those who enter, as Jesus would with arms wide open LOVE is still the most effective tool in ministry today LOVE ON PEOPLE ENCOURAGE Eph 4.29 Tailor the environment to those who you are trying to reach God pushes you out of your comfort zone to grow you if you remain comfortable it is time to ask God to pierce your callused heart and to push you into where you refuse to be(complacency is a sin) Exciting, vivid, engaging environments are useful to keep people Parking and building accommodation as you grow you need to make arrangements to accommodate more people instead of kicking the overflow out. WWJD Dont forget it! Loving people: who are OPENLY caring and have a cleared background checks will help parents feel safer dropping their kids off to kids church/sunday school. Computers and projectors are not evil. They are tools. Use them for the Glory of the Father Don't be afraid to use worldly things as tools to teach worldly people. Reach people by any means necessary (within reason, not compromising on your Godly morals and values) Don't run from this world. If what you seek is God's heart.. wouldn't that mean you should be ankle deep in the filth of this world digging for the lost? Embrace the area you are placed for it is a field of ministry. Reach out to them with integrity and the love of the Lord. LEAD BY EXAMPLE: Show people what it looks like to be born again. To have unstoppable joy and limitless love. Modern Worship Electric Guitars, Drums, and loudness don't belong to the devil. They are tools, let's use them. Secular music, used the right way is a very effective tool to bridge the gap that people far from God have placed between them and God. Get creative. God blessed you with freedom to express yourself in any way you see fit. Use visual aids Get people involved everyone should serve A dark, loud environment will push young people to worship openly. ALWAYS PRAY AND SEEK Jesus loves the kids just as the adults.... they should get an equal amount if not more attention and time put into the teaching. Should be the most exciting place in the world HUMOR! God is so FUNNY! There is nothing wrong with that

What do you think is the biggest mistake churches make in matters of youth acquisition and retention? Heidi Bolt: Not giving youth a reason to feel invested in the church as a whole. Perhaps poor follow-up and lack of relationship.... Churches thinking youth need a 'segregated' environment to think church is cool. Catering to them instead of challenging them to step up and excel. At Elevate I feel our youth know they are valued because they are involved in key areas of ministry and leading in huge roles. i.e. our college/high school directors in the kids rooms and our very young worship team. Building a relationship with the kids that follows your relationship with the Lord is key to reaching the youth. Challenging the kids to step up and excel instead of catering to them. Follow up You must be reaching out just as much as you are pushing to affirm their actions as well as keeping them informed and accountable.
