    Project Sales Corp introduces new Marston Universal Sealant for Gearbox Sealing Applications By Sivaram Kumar Dated: Jan 05, 2012 Marston is a unique non-hardening sealing compound used extensively for sealing metal-to-metal joints at high temperatures, in the presence of oils, fuels , lubricants and gases Marston is developed for application in the metal-to-metal joints in flanges. It is resistant against mineral oils and synthetic oils, fuels, additives, gases, water, anti-freeze, etc. With a unique curtaining action, when flanges sealed with Marston expand, Marston stretches, and then breaks cohesively, leaving sealant on both sides. When the flanges return together, the putty reseals, a self-healing mechanism. This makes Marston a particularly effective sealant on close fitting large flanges which are subject to extreme vibration, distortion, or joint movement, because while the seal may break for a microsecond, it reseals and the pedestal bearing fluids remain contained avoiding any leakage from the flange. With a higher temperature resistance and better bonding properties than other oil resistant sealing compounds, this product is formulated to avoid corrosion on any metals, and resist mineral as well as synthetic fluids used for oil circulation systems. The non-hardening property allows for several assembly and disassembly without reapplication. For this, its unique red color allows for easy identification on the flange surfaces. Unlimited Shelf life Temperatures Resistance upto 270 deg C continuous and upto + 300 deg C for short time. Resistant to all mineral oils and virtually all synthetic oils, fuel, diesel, petrol, antifreeze agent, saltwater, gases, etc Very adhesive sealing compound based on polyurethane. Excellent thermal, mechanical and chemical resistance. Corrosion free – no adverse effect on metals Non-hardening – hence handles vibrations and lateral movements better Seals all asperities in metal-to-metal joints with one easy application.
