Date : 06-05-2010
AIM:
(SPSS)
To perform cross tabulation analysis with sex and weight and test whether they are related using SPSS software. PROCEDURE:
Step 1:
Go to START PROGRAMS SPSS Ins PASW statistics 18 PASW statistics 18.
Step 2:
In the variable view sheet give the variables which are needed for analysis.
Step 3:
In data view sheet enter the data for corresponding variables.
Step 4:
Go to ANALYZE DESCRIPTIVE STATISTICS CROSS TABS.
Step 5:
Assign the variables weight in row and sex in columns.
Step 6:
In statistics, choose CHI-SQUARE and give CONTINUE and OK.
Step7:
Output window is automatically generated.
Step 8
Give the inference.

a. 26 cells (100.0%) have expected count less than 5. The minimum expected count is .48.
Inference:
From the above table, the weight and sex are cross tabulated.
Second table shows the cross tabulation result. Third table shows the result of Chi-Square test. Null hypothesis: There is no significant relationship between groups. Alternative hypothesis: There is significant relationship between groups. Calculated value is 0.399. It is greater than the value 0.05. So accept null hypothesis. There is no significant relationship between sex and weight.
RESULT: Thus the cross tabulation analysis with sex and weight were tested using SPSS software.
AIM: To do the correlation analysis between heights and weights and offer finding using SPSS software. PROCEDURE:
Step 1:
Go to START PROGRAMS SPSS Ins PASW statistics 18 PASW statistics 18.
Step 2:
In the variable view sheet give the variables which are needed for analysis.
Step 3:
In data view sheet enter the data for corresponding variables.
Step 4:
Go to ANALYZE CORRELATE BIVARIATE give variables HEIGHT and WEIGHT.
Step 5:
Choose KARL PERSON CO-EFFICIENT of correlation.
Step 6:
Output window is automatically generated.
Step 7:
Give the inference.

Inference:
There is a positive correlation existing between weight and height and also the strength of the correlation is highly significant.
RESULT: Thus correlation between weights and heights was analyzed using SPSS software.

To find out the difference between scores of employees before and after the training program using SPSS software.
PROCEDURE:
Step 1:
Go to START PROGRAMS SPSS Ins PASW statistics 18 PASW statistics 18.
Step 2:
In the variable view sheet give the variables which are needed for analysis.
Step 3:
In data view sheet enter the data for corresponding variables
Step 4:
Go to ANALYZE COMPARE MEANS PAIRED SAMPLES T TEST give the VARIABLE 1 as BEFORE and VARIABLE 2 as AFTER and click OK.
Step 5:
Output window is automatically generated.
Step 6:
Give the inference.
DATA SHEET
OUTPUT:
Inference:
From the above table, shows the Paired Samples Statistics. Second table shows the Paired Samples Correlations. Third table shows the result of Paired Samples Test. Null hypothesis: There is no significant difference between scores of employees before training and after training. Alternative hypothesis: There is significant difference between scores of employees before training and after training. The mean value of employees scores after training is increasing and the significant level is 0.000 which is less than 0.05. So reject null hypothesis. There is significant difference between scores of employees before training and after training.
RESULT: Thus the scores of individuals before training and after training programs are compared with T test using SPSS software.
