Class Railway Apprentices' Examination, 2012 on 29 January,

appointed by the State Government. (b) A person with Low Vision means one with impairment of
visual functioning even after treatment of standard refractive correction but who uses or is potentially
capable of using vision for the planning or execution of a task with appropriate assistive device. 4.
Deaf & Hearing Impaired (HI): (a) Deaf are those persons in whom the sense of hearing is non-
functional for ordinary purposes of life, i.e. with total loss of hearing in both ears. They do not hear
and understand sounds at all - even with amplified speech. (b) Hearing impairment means loss of
more than 60 decibels in the better ear in the conversational range of frequencies. 3 : RESERVATION
IN POSTS :
As the Reservation for Persons With Disabilities (PWD) Category candidates is on a horizontal basis,
the selected candidates will be placed in the appropriate category to which they belong (viz. SC, ST,
OBC, and General). (a) Candidates belonging to and applying under the Reserved OBC Category
are required to submit a Certificate regarding his / her "Community" in the prescribed format "FORM
OF CERTIFICATE TO BE PRODUCED BY OTHER BACKWARD CLASSES APPLYING FOR

vacancies indicated above and also the number of reserved vacancies is provisional and may vary
according to the actual requirement of the Bank. (c) In case of non-availability of reserved candidates,
the Bank reserves its right to Inter-change these categories as per Government Directives. (d) It is
clarified that it may not be possible to employ candidates belonging to PWD Category in all Offices/

Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates by 5 years. ii) Other Backward Classes candidates by
3 years. iii) Persons with Disability (PWD) by 10 years on cumulative basis. The cumulative age
relaxation for PWD category candidates will therefore be (a) by 15 years (10 + 5) for SC/ST; (b) by 13
years (10 + 3) for OBC; and (c) by 10 years (0 + 10) for General Candidates, subject to such
cumulative relaxation not taking the age of the candidate to beyond 50 years as on the date of his
joining the service of the Bank. IV) In the case of Ex-Servicemen and Commissioned Officers,
including ECOs/SSCOS who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released
on completion of assignment (Including those whose assignment is due to be completed within the
next one year from the last date for receipt of application) other than by way of dismissal or discharge
on account of misconduct or inefficiency or on account of physical disability attributable to military
service or on being declared as invalid , by 5 years for selection through written test & interview and
by 3 years plus period of service in armed forces for selection through interview only, subject to his not
exceeding the age of 50 years. V) All persons who have ordinarily been domiciled in Kashmir
Division of J & K State during 01.01.1980 and 31.121989 by 5 years. VI) Persons (Children / Family
members of those) affected by 1984 Riots by 5 years. VII) Persons who have completed 5 years
service in RRBs by 5 years. NOTE (a)An Ex-Serviceman who has once joined a Government Job on
the Civil side after availing of the benefits given to him as an Ex-Servicemen for his re-employment,
his Ex- Servicemen status for the purpose of re employment ceases. (b) In the case of a candidate
who is eligible for relaxation under more than one of the above categories, the age relaxation will
be available on cumulative basis with any one of the remaining categories for which age relaxation
is permitted as mentioned above.This cumulative age relaxation is available to SC/ST/ OBC
candidates only. (c) The candidates eligible for age relaxation under 3 (iv) above must produce the
domicile certificate at the time of group discussion / Interview from the district magistrate in the

(As on01.07.2011) : (i) Nationality / Citizenship: A candidate must be either (i) a Citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal or (iii) a subject of Bhutan or (iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India
before 1st Jan. 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin
who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the
United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia
and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging
to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has
been issued by the Govt. of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary
may be admitted to the examination &/or interview but on final selection the offer of appointment
may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government
of India. (ii) Applications from serving employees: Subject to their fulfilling the eligibility criteria,
existing employees of Union Bank of India may apply online and then submit their applications
through proper channel (HR Departments of the Nodal Regional / Field General Managers Office /
Central Office under whose jurisdiction they work). Such candidates, if selected, shall resign from
their present positions in the bank and re-join the Banks service afresh. For those under Indemnity

candidate will ensure to provide proof of having the work experience that he/she claims to possess.
6: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (As on 01.07.2011) : Educational Qualifications: (a). A Graduate Degree
with minimum 55% marks (50% for Reserved Category candidates) in the aggregate in the final year
of Graduation from a UGC recognised / AICTE Accredited University / Institution; PREFERABLY
WITH A Diploma in Banking & Finance (DBF) from the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (IIBF) ,
AND (b). Candidates should be Qualified in the Common Written Examination conducted by IBPS
and should be holding a valid score card issued by IBPS . AND (c). A Certificate for having completed
a Course in Computer Awareness & Office Automation for duration of minimum 60 hours from a
reputed Computer Training Institute, which will be waived where 'Computers' is a part of the curriculum
at the Graduation / Post-Graduation Level. Selection Procedure: Through a Personal Interview or
any other mode of selection to be decided by the competent authority. NOTE: Candidates must
specifically indicate the Class / Division obtained calculated to the nearest two decimals in the
relevant column of the application. Where no percentage of Marks is awarded by the University, but
only CGPA/ OGPA is awarded, the same should be converted into percentage , besides indicating
the CGPA/ OGPA in the application. The result of the Qualifying examination i.e Graduation or
Equivalent to Graduation, as the case may be, should have been awarded by the University on or
before 01.07.2011. Candidates should have obtained the specified IBPS score in each test and in
aggregate in the common written Examination. candidates should be able to produce the valid
score card in support of the scores mentioned in the online application from if called for further
selection processes such as Psychometric test and/ or Interview. (A) The Educational Qualifications
prescribed above for the post is the MINIMUM. Candidates MUST POSSESS these qualifications as
on (inclusive) and MUST ATTACH PROOF thereof, i.e., clear and legible photocopies of: (1) (a)SSC/
HSC Passing Certificate and (b)University FINAL DEGREE Passing (CONVOCATION) Certificate for
Graduate Candidates. (Provisional Degree Passing Certificate will be accepted only in case of those
candidates who have passed the Degree Final Examination and the University has not conferred the
Degree on the applicant); (2) Year-wise / Semester-wise Mark sheet for each year / semester in respect
of the Degree Examinationsfrom the educational institution they have studied; (3) Computer Course
Passing Certificate from a recognised Computer Training Institute in support of having completed
the Computer Awareness & Office Automation Course. Candidates who have acquired Computer
Awareness & Knowledge as part of the curriculum at the Degree levelshould indicate this fact in the
Application Form and also highlight the Computer subject in the relevant Mark Sheet, which should
be attached to the Application Form. APPLICATIONS NOT FULFILLING THIS CRITERION AND NOT
SUBMITTING PROOF AS STATED ABOVE WILL BE SUMMARILY REJECTED.
7. PROBATION PERIOD: The selected candidate will be on Probation for a period of 24 months (2
years) of active service from the date of his / her joining the Bank. 8. SERVICE BOND : The selected
candidate will be required to execute a Service Bond undertaking to serve the Bank for a period of
3 years or to pay the Bank a sum of Rs.200000.00 should he / she leave the Bank before the
completion of the 3 year service period. 9. SELECTION METHODOLOGY: PERSONAL INTERVIEW.
A Personal Interview of 50 marks shall be conducted to assess the candidates academic record,
power of expression, clarity of thought, qualities of leadership, extra curricular activities, hobbies,
general demeanor, behavior, communication skills, suitability for the post, etc. The minimum qualifying
marks for the Personal Interview would be 50% marks (45% marks for Reserved Category Candidates).
Candidates not clearing the Personal Interview will not be considered for final selection. (III): The
short-listing of the candidates for Personal Interview will be made on the basis of the candidates
performance in the Written Test conducted by IBPS and the Total Wheighted Score obtained as per
the valid Score Card Issued by IBPS. Depending on the number of vacancies, only those candidates
who are Qualified in the Common Written Examination conducted by IBPS and possess a valid score
card issued by IBPS and rank sufficiently high in the order of merit based on the total Weighted Score
shall be called for a Personal Interview in the ratio of 1:3 for General / Unreserved Candidates and
1:5 in case of candidates belonging to the Reserved Categories). In other words, 3 General and 5
Reserved Category candidates against the vacancies stipulated respectively would be called for the
Personal interview depending upon their ranking as per the total Weighted Score obtained by them.
The Bank reserves its right to call for the Interview candidates otherwise than in the above ratio at its
sole discretion. (IV) Candidates passing the Personal Interview will be ranked in a descending order
on the basis of the Weighted Score obtained in the Written Test conducted by IBPS, Personal
Interview under the respective SC / ST / OBC / GEN Category. (V) Subject to the vacancies available
under the respective Category, only those candidates who pass the Personal Interview will be short-
listed for selection in the order of the Merit Rank obtained by them under the respective Category. (4)
In case it is detected at any stage that the candidate does not satisfy with the conditions stipulated
or does not fulfill any of the eligibility criteria, and / or he / she has furnished any incorrect information
and / or has suppressed any material information / fact(s) his / her candidature will stand cancelled.

Certificate issued as specified in "The Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection
of Rights & Full Participation) Act, 1995" in support of their disability issued by an Authorised
Certifying Authority [as indicated at Para 14(ii)], clearly indicating the Nature & Quantum

CERTIFICATE TO BE PRODUCED BY OTHER BACKWARD CLASSES APPLYING FOR
APPOINTMENT TO POSTS UNDER THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA" and should invariably
contain the 'CREAMY / NON-CREAMY LAYER CLAUSE based on the income for the financial
year 2010-2011, i.e., as of 31.03.2011. The prescribed format of the OBC Certificate with 'Non-
Creamy Layer Clause' is available on the Banks Website after this Notification. As Candidates
have sufficient time to download, print and use the Format given in this Notification to obtain
the OBC Certificate with the Creamy Layer Clause as of 31.03.2011 and submit it at the time of
the Personal Interview, OBC CERTIFICATES NOT IN THE PRESCRIBED FORMATS AND / OR
NOT CONTAINING THE NON-CREAMY LAYER CLAUSE BASED ON FINANCIAL YEAR PRIOR

ensure prompt receipt of postal mail sent by the Bank after the conclusion of the Interview.
Candidates desirous of changing their communication address at any time after the conclusion
of the written examination may communicate the change to the Bank giving therein (1) their Full
Name, (2) System Generated Registration Number, (3) Written Exam Roll Number, (4) Written
Exam Centre, (5) Earlier noted address and (6) the Changed Address. While every effort will be
made to incorporate the changed address, the Bank will bear no responsibility & / or liability for

AGAINST CANDIDATES FOUND GUILTY OF MISCONDUCT: Candidates are advised in their own

1. ELIGIBILITYCRITERIA: NATIONALITY/CITIZENSHIP: Acandidate must be either i) a Citizen of

India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or v) a person of
Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya,

Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a
candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a
certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. Acandidate in whose case a
certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the Interview conducted by the Bank but on
final selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the Government of India has issued
the necessary eligibility certificate to him/her. 2. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AS ON 01.07.2011 FOR
THE ABOVE POST IS PRESECRIBED AS UNDER:
Note: 1. Degrees obtained from the Recognized Universities/Institutes recognized by the Govt, of
India only will be considered. 2. The educational qualification prescribed for the post is the minimum.
3. Candidates must specifically indicate the class/division and percentage of marks obtained calculated
to the nearest two decimals in the relevant column of the application. Where no percentage of marks
is awarded by the University, but only CGPA/OGPA is awarded, the same should be converted into
percentage, besides indicating the CGPA/OGPAin the application. 4. The result of the qualifying
examination, i.e graduation should have been announced by the University on or before 01.07.2011.
5. Candidates should have obtained the specified IBPS Score in each test and/ in aggregate in the
Common Written Examination conducted for Probationary Officers/ Management Trainees in 2011-
12. Candidates should be able to produce the Score card in support of the scores mentioned in the
online application form, if called for further selection process such as Interview. 6. The cut off score
shown above is only for the purpose of eligibility for applying. However, Bank reserves its right to
adopt the cut off score depending upon the suitability based on the number of candidates available
for the number of vacancies declared.
3. RELAXATION IN UPPER AGE LIMIT:
Note: a) An Ex-Serviceman who has once joined a government job on the civil side after availing of
the benefits given to him as an ex-serviceman for his re-employment, his ex-serviceman status for the
purpose of re-employment in Government ceases. b) Inthecaseofacandidatewhoiseligibleforrelaxation
under more than one of the above categories, the age relaxation will be available on cumulative
basis with any one of the remaining categories for which age relaxation is permitted as mentioned
above. This cumulative age relaxation is available to SC/ST/OBC candidates only. c) The candidates
eligible for age relaxation under 3 (iv) above must produce the Domicile Certificate at the time of
Interview from the District Magistrate in the Kashmir Division within whose jurisdiction he/she had
ordinarily resided or any other authority designated in this regard by Govt, of J & K to the effect that
the candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of J & K during
IstJan. 1980 and the 31st day of December 1989. d) All persons eligible for age relaxation under SI,
No. 3 (vi) must produce a certificate issued by the District Magistrate to the effect that they are
eligible for relief in terms of rehabilitation package for 1984 Riots affected persons sanctioned by
Government and communicated by Ministry of Finance, Department of Financial Services
communication no. F.No. 9/21/206-IRdated 27.07.2007. 4. RESERVATIONS: A. Reservation for
SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates will be provided as per Government guidelines. B. Persons with
Disabilities: Under Section 33 of Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights
and Full Participation) Act, 1995 only such persons would be eligible for reservation who suffer from
not less that 40% of relevant disability and are certified by a Medical Board appointed by the
Central/State Govt. Accordingly, candidates with the following disabilities are eligible to apply.
Applicants claiming such benefits should produce certificate in original in support of their claim at
the time of Interview conducted by the Bank, if called by the Bank. Visually Impaired (VI) Blindness
refers to a condition where a Person suffers from any of the following conditions: namely (i) Total
absence of sight (ii) Visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with
correcting lenses, (iii) Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of 20 degree or worse.
Low vision means a person with impairment of visual functioning even after treatment or standard
refractive correction but who uses or is potentially capable of using vision for the planning or
execution of a task with appropriate assistive device. Deaf & Hearing Imparled (HI): The deaf are
those persons in whom the sense of hearing is non-functional for ordinary purpose of life i.e. total loss
of hearing in both ears. They do not hear; understand sounds at all even with amplified speech.
Hearing impairment means loss of sixty decibels or more in the better ear in the conversational range
of frequencies. Orthopaedically Challenged (OC): Locomotor Disability means disability of bones,
joints or muscles leading to substantial restriction of the movement of the limbs or any form of
cerebral palsy. Cerebral Palsy means a group of non progressive conditions of person characterised
by abnormal motor control posture resulting from brain insult or injuries occurring in the pre-natal,
perinatal or infant period of development. All the cases of Orthopaedically Challendged persons
would be covered under the category of "Locomotor Disability or Cerebral Palsy". As the reservation
for Persons with Disabilities is on horizontal basis, the selected candidates will be placed in the
appropriate category (viz. SC/ST/OBC/ GEN) to which they belong. C. There is no reservation for
Ex-servicemen candidates in the Officer cadre. 5. APPLICATION FEE (INCLUDING POSTAGE /
INTIMATION CHARGES) (NON-REFUNDABLE):
The fee for SC/ST/PWD is towards postage/intimation charges only and for others the fee includes
postal charges of Rs. 50/- Requisite Application Fee may be paid Through CBS at any of the

website. Through NEFT at any Bank Branch. NOTE: (i) Demand Drafts, Cheques, Money Orders,

Sub-Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and/or his/her family normally resides. (b)
For Persons with Disabilities: Authorised Certifying Authority will be Medical Board at the District
level. The Medical Board consists of Chief Medical Officer, Sub-Divisional Medical Officer in the
District and a member who is a specialist in Orthopaedics, ENT or Ophthalmology, as the case may
be, 7. SELECTION PROCEDURE: Selection for the post of Probationary Officer will be based on the
Total Weighted Score in the Common Written Examination (CWE) conducted by IBPS in September
2011/November 2011 and the marks scored in the Interview. The Candidates belonging to SC/ST/
OBC/PWD will be given relaxation in marks as per extant Government guidelines. 8. SERVICE
BOND: The selected candidates shall be required to execute a Service Bond undertaking to serve
the Bank for period of two years from the date of joining the Bank failing which they shall pay an
amount of Rs. 1.00 lakh (Rupees One lakh only) to the Bank. 9. INTERVIEW: Depending upon the
number of vacancies, the Bank reserves the right to call only those candidates who have sufficiently
high IBPS score in the stipulated Common Written Examination for Interview. 10. INTERVIEW
CENTRES: The Interview will be held at various centres and the address of the venue will be advised
in the call letters. The address of the venues will also be displayed in the Bank's website one week
before the dates for commencement of Interviews. 11. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: (a) Before applying,

depending upon the place of posting. 3. Educational Qualification (as on 01.12.2011) i) Minimum
12th Standard (10 + 2) pass or equivalent qualification with a minimum of aggregate 60% marks
(55% for SC/ ST/ PWD/ XS). PWD(OBC) & XS(OBC) candidates applying under Special Recruitment
Drive are required to have minimum of 60% marks in 12th standard or in equivalent qualification.
OR ii) A degree (Graduation level) from a recognised university. Note: Candidates who have not
passed 12th standard Examination but have passed Diploma course after 10th standard are eligible
for the captioned recruitment provided: (a) Diploma course passed after 10th standard must be a full
time course (Diploma course through correspondence are not eligible) with a minimum of two years
duration. (b) The Diploma course passed after 10th standard should be recognized / approved by the
State Board of technical Education of concerned State. (c) The percentage of marks in 12th/
Diploma Course shall be arrived at by dividing the marks obtained by the candidate in all subjects

the university / institution. (d) Matriculate Ex-servicemen, who have obtained the Indian Army
Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or Air Force, after having
completed not less than 15 years of service in Armed Forces of the Union are also eligible for the
post. Such certificates should be dated on or before 01.12.2011. (e) Should be able to write and
speak English fluently. (f) Knowledge of local language will be an added qualification. 4. Age: (As
on 01.12.2011) i. Minimum Age : 18 years ; Maximum Age : 28 years (as on 01.12.2011). Candidates
born between 30.11.1983 & 01.12.1993 are only eligible to apply. ii. The upper age limit will be
relaxed as under :

5. Definition: Ex-Serviceman : Only those candidates shall be treated as Ex-Servicemen who fulfil
the revised definition as laid down in Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of
Personnel and Administrative Reforms Notification No.36034/5/85/ Estt(SCT) dated 27th October,
1986 as amended from time to time. Disabled Ex-Servicemen: Ex-Servicemen who while serving in
Armed Forces of the Union were disabled in operation against the enemy or in disturbed areas shall
be treated as Disabled Ex-Servicemen. Dependents of Servicemen killed in Action : Servicemen
killed in the following operations would be deemed to have been killed in action attributable to
Military Service (a) war (b) warlike operations or border skirmishes either with Pakistan on cease fire
line or any other country (c) Fighting against armed hostiles in a counter insurgency environment viz.
Nagaland, Mizoram, etc. (d) Serving with peace-keeping mission abroad (e) Laying or clearance of
mines including enemy mines as also mine sweeping operation between one month before and
three months after conclusion of an operation (f) Frost-bite during actual operations or during the
period specified by the Government (g) Dealing with agitating Para-Military forces personnel (h)
IPKF personnel killed during the operations in Sri Lanka. NOTE: 1) Candidates still serving in
Defence and desirous of applying under Ex-Servicemen category should submit a certificate from
the competent authority to the effect that they would be completing the specific period of engagement
on or before 30.09.2012 and that they would be released / retired on or before 30.11.2012. 2) Ex-
Servicemen candidates who have already secured employment under the Central Government in
Group C & D will be permitted the benefit of age relaxation as prescribed for Ex-Servicemen for
securing another employment in a higher grade or cadre in Group C/ D under the Central Government.
However, such candidates will not be eligible for the benefits of reservation for Ex-Servicemen in
Central Government jobs. 3) The Territorial Army Personnel will be treated as Ex-Servicemen w.e.f.
15.11.1986. 4) An Ex-Serviceman who has once joined a Government job on the civil side after
availing of the benefits given to him as an Ex-Serviceman for his re-employment, his Ex-Serviceman
status for the purpose of re-employment in Government ceases. 6. Reservation for Persons with
Disability (PWD): Vacancies are reserved for Disabled (Physically Challenged) Persons under Section
33 of the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation)
Act, 1995 (1 of 1996) as per government guidelines. Candidates with following disabilities are
eligible to apply as per the definitions given in the above act: a) Blindness b) Low Vision c) Hearing
Impairment d) Locomotor Disability or Cerebral Palsy Only such persons would be eligible for
reservation in services/ posts who suffer from not less than 40% of relevant disability. A person who
wants to avail the benefit of reservation will have to submit a Disability Certificate issued by Medical
Board duly constituted by Central or State Government. The certificate should be dated on or before

7. The blind candidates/low vision candidates and candidates who are locomotor impaired in both
hands and both arms and candidates whose writing speed is affected by cerebral palsy can use own
scribe at their cost during the written examination. In all such cases where a scribe is used, the
following rules will apply: i) The candidate will have to arrange his/her own scribe at his/her own cost.
ii) The academic qualification of the scribe should be one grade lower than the minimum stipulated
eligibility criteria for the candidate. (11th Standard or below). iii) The scribe can be from any
academic discipline. iv) Both the candidate as well as the scribe will have to give a suitable
undertaking in the prescribed format with passport size photograph of scribe, and confirm that the
scribe fulfils all the stipulated eligibility criteria for a scribe as mentioned above. Further, in case it
later transpires that he/she did not fulfill any of the laid-down criteria or suppressed material facts, the
candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled, irrespective of the result of the written test. v) Such
candidates who use a scribe shall be eligible for extra time of 20 minutes for every hour of the
examination. 8. Probation period: The newly appointed clerks will be on probation for a Minimum
period of 6 months. Before the probation period comes to an end, the performance of the newly
recruited employees will be evaluated and the probation period of those employees whose
performance fails to meet Banks expectation, may be extended. 9. Application Fees and / or
Intimation Charges (Non-refundable)
Fee once deposited will neither be refunded nor be adjusted against any future recruitment projects.
The fee sent through Indian Postal Order, Bank Drafts, Cheques, Currency Notes etc. will not be
accepted. Such applications will be treated as without fee and will be summarily rejected. Candidates
also has an option to make online fee payment as detailed under item 15. 10. Selection Procedure:
All eligible candidates should apply on-line before the last date for registration of application. a.
Final selection will be made on the basis of performance in the written test and interview taken
together. Merely satisfying the eligibility norms does not entitle a candidate to be called for written
test or interview. b. The written test will be of Objective type consisting of (i) General Awareness (ii)
General English (iii) Quantitative Aptitude (iv) Reasoning Ability (v) Marketing Aptitude / Computer
Knowledge. The questions in objective tests, except for the test of General English, will be printed

While registering the application, every candidate should indicate the name and code number of
the Centre where he/she desires to take the examination. The candidates will appear for the written
examination at their own expenses and risks and the bank will not be responsible for any injury or
losses etc. of any nature. NO CHANGE IN THE CHOICE OF EXAMINATION CENTRE WILL BE
ENTERTAINED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. BANK RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ADD OR DELETE

Application Format. iii) Fill the application carefully. In the event of the candidate not able to fill the
data in one go, he can save the data already entered. When the data is saved, registration number
and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note
down the registration number and password. Email & SMS indicating the Registration number and
Password will be sent. They can reopen the saved data using registration number and password and
edit the particulars, if needed. This facility will be available for three times only. Once the application
is filled complete, candidate should submit the data. Candidates to take a printout of the system
generated fee payment challan immediately. No change/ edit will be allowed thereafter. The
registration at this stage is provisional. iv) Fee Payment: Fee payment will be accepted from 2nd
working day after registration and can be made within three working days at any branch of State Bank
of India. System generated fee payment challan will be used for depositing fee. (For example: If one
has registered on 12.01.2012, then he/she will be able to deposit the fee from 14th to 17th January,
2012, considering 15th is a non- working day). Once fee paid, the registration process is completed.
v) Candidate will receive registration confirmation by SMS/e-mail after two working days from the
date of payment of fees. Please ensure to furnish correct Mobile number / e-mail address to receive
the registration confirmation. Note: There is also a provision to reprint the submitted application
containing fee details, after three days of fee payment.

be generated and fee payment will have to made online through payment gateway available
thereat. II. After ensuring the correctness of the particulars of the application form candidates are
required to pay fees through the payment gateway integrated with the application, following the
instructions available on the screen. No change/edit will be allowed thereafter III. The payment can
be made by using MASTER/VISA debit/ credit cards or Internet Banking by providing information as
asked on the screen. Transaction charges for online payment will be borne by the candidates. IV. On
successful completion of the transaction, e-receipt and application form will be generated; you may
take its printout for your record. V. If the online transaction has not been successfully completed, then
please register again. Candidates may then revisit Online Application link and fill in their application
details again and make payment online. Note: There is also a provision to reprint the eReceipt and
Application form containing fee details, at later stage. - The printout of the application form must not

GUIDELINES FOR SCANNING THE PHOTOGRAPH & SIGNATURE
Before applying online a candidate will be required to have a scanned (digital) image of his/her
photograph and signature as per the specifications given below .
(i) PHOTOGRAPH IMAGE: Photograph must be a recent passport size colour picture. The picture
should be in colour, against a light-coloured, preferably white, background. Look straight at the
camera with a relaxed face If the picture is taken on a sunny day, have the sun behind you, or place
yourself in the shade, so that you are not squinting and there are no harsh shadows If you have to
use flash, ensure theres no red-eye If you wear glasses make sure that there are no reflections and
your eyes can be clearly seen. Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable. Religious headwear
is allowed but it must not cover your face. Dimensions 200 x 230 pixels (preferred) Size of file
should be between 20kb50 kb Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 50KB.
If the size of the file is more than 50 KB, then adjust the settings of the scanner such as the DPI
resolution, no. of colours etc., during the process of scanning. (ii) SIGNATURE IMAGE: The
applicant has to sign on white paper with Black Ink pen. The signature must be signed only by the
applicant and not by any other person. The signature will be used to put on the Attendence Sheet.
If the Applicants signature on the answer script, at the time of the examination, does not match the
signature on the Attendence Sheet/Hall Ticket, the applicant will be disqualified. Dimensions 140
x 60 pixels (preferred) Size of file should be between 10kb 20kb Ensure that the size of the
scanned image is not more than 20KB SCANNING THE PHOTOGRAPH & SIGNATURE: Set the
scanner resolution to a minimum of 200 dpi (dots per inch) Set Color to True Color File Size as
specified above Crop the image in the scanner to the edge of the photograph/signature, then use
the upload editor to crop the image to the final size (as specified above). The image file should be
JPG or JPEG format. An example file name is : image01.jpg or image01.jpeg Image dimensions
can be checked by listing the folder files or moving the mouse over the file image icon. Candidates
using MS Windows/MSOffice can easily obtain photo and signature in .jpeg format not exceeding
50KB & 20KB respectively by using MS Paint or MSOffice Picture Manager. Scanned photograph
and signature in any format can be saved in .jpg format by using Save As option in the File menu
and size can be reduced below 50KB(photograph) & 20KB(signature) by using crop and then resize
option (Please see point (i) & (ii) above for the pixel size) in the Image menu. Similar options are
available in other photo editor also. If the file size and format are not as prescribed, an error message
will be displayed. While filling in the Online Application Form the candidate will be provided with
a link to upload his photograph and signature. Procedure for Uploading the Photograph and Signature
(i) There will be two separate links for uploading Photograph and Signature (ii) Click on the respective
link Upload Photograph / Signature (iii) Browse & Select the location where the Scanned Photo /

Visual Standards: * General Duty: 6/6 (Good Eye) and 6/9 (Bad Eye) (Candidates using glasses are

declared permanent medically unfit by any Armed Forces Hospital in previous recruitment for the
same entry in Coast Guard are advised not to apply. Final Medical Examination: All selected

commencement of training. Candidates found 'unfit' during this medical examination will be discharged
from Coast Guard. TRAINING: The basic training for Navik (General duty) will commence in Aug
2012 at INS Chilka followed by sea training and professional training in the allotted trade. Training

service and performance during basic training. Naviks are liable to be discharged as UNSUITABLE

Any individual who aspires to join any of the above Public Sector Banks as one of these Specialist

and who meet the stipulated eligibility criteria are then required to apply to any of the participating
banks they wish to as and when individual banks call for applications for the Specialist Officers' posts

their CWE scores. Each bank will then individually shortlist candidates and carry out their own
selection processes such as Interviews etc. for final. Each participating Public Sector Bank will
independently issue a separate recruitment notification, specifying their vacancies and stipulating
the eligibility criteria in terms of age, educational qualification, experience (if any), minimum
required level of IBPS scorer in each test and on Total Score (if any) etc. HOW TO APPLY FOR CWE
(Specialist Officers) Candidates can apply through IBPS's Website www.ibps.in only and no other
mode of application will be accepted. The advertisement stipulating the procedure for payment of
application fees and applying online, eligibility criteria, structure of Written Examination, issuance
