MANITOU, as the name implies, is a deity in its work and is outstanding of its kind. Compared to BEML Tyre Handler working at HZL-Agucha, MANITOU is far better in its function, operation and look. The MHT can be equipped with a wide range of front mounted attachments ideal for performing a variety of jobs.

The key features which make the machine very special are as follows:
1) MERCEDES BENZ ENGINE: Right Side on the machine frame is mounted a 4 Cylinder, 129 KW Mercedes Benz turbo diesel engine. The engine is mounted into a separate box and is easily accessible. There are two switches to start and stop the engine, on the engine itself, which can be specially used to test the engine and the mechanic need not have to move into the cabin for starting the engine. The fuel injection of the engine is electronically controlled. The radiator of the engine is equipped with a cooling fan powered by hydraulic motor. There is a data plug-in point of the engine inside the cabin to which a laptop can be connected and important data about the engine can be collected. The air cleaning system has a Centri Air Pre cleaner.

2) THE AUTOMATIC GREASING SYSTEM: The equipment is equipped with a standard automatic greasing system which greases most of the movable parts at a preset time and/or by press of a button from inside the cabin or the switch on the greasing unit. The greasing time can be controlled by some simple adjustments on the greasing unit. Though the greasing unit greases most of the points of the machine, some points need to be greased manually (viz. the knuckle joints of the propeller shaft, knuckle joints in the axle system, etc). 3) FOUR WHEEL DRIVE AND THREE STEERING MODES: The machine is equipped with power steering system with three different modes of steering as in figure below. The OMCI (stacker) Heavy Duty type ball joint AXLES with integrated steering cylinders provides the freedom for steering all the four wheels in three different modes.
The Axle system 4) FRAME LEVELLING 10/10 ON FRONT AXLE: With the two levelling cylinders on the front axle the machine frame can be tilted by 10 degrees on either side by push of a single button. The correct leveling angle can be judged by viewing the spirit level indicator from inside the cabin. To use this function the boom angle should be with 30 degrees.
5) QUICK COUPLER FOR THE FRONT END ATTACHMENTS: With its simple and ingenious attachment system, changing attachments is a question of seconds. The Flat-face, no-spill couplings in hydraulic hoses makes it easier to attach or remove the connections with in few seconds.

6) FLEXIBILITY AND VERSATALITY: The telescopic boom provides a greater flexibility in forward reach of about 6 meters and a lift height of about 10 meters. The same equipment can be for different purposes (handling, lifting and loading etc.) upon changing the front end attachment. 7) SAFETY VALVES ON CYLINDERS: Present on all the hydraulic cylinders, they prevent the telescope from collapsing if a Safety valve on tilt cylinder hose accidentally ruptures. 8) SAFETY DEVICE WITH AUTOMATIC LOCK FOR AGGRAVATING MOVMENTS: The machine has got a safety device which automatically locks the hydraulic functions (i.e. attachment functions and the movement of the boom etc) when ever the machine is overloaded. 9) CAB MEETS ROPS/FOPS STANDARDS: The cab is designed to meet ROPS and FOPS standards. The cab is spacious & soundproof and has a comfortable & adjustable seat, Air recycling Cabin protection unit, Upper door opening. 10) HYDROSTATIC TRANSMISSION: It provides flexible, progressive driving to position a load with greater accuracy and safety. This device automatically adapts the speed of the machine to the difficulties encountered at two forward and reverse speeds. 11) MOST OF THE HYDRAULIC COMPONENTS ARE REXOROTH MADE. 12) Axle assemblies and brakes: Multidisc oil-bath brakes are protected inside each axle assembly. This system is assisted by hydraulic controls. For greater safety, it is doubled with negative braking which is used as a parking and emergency stop brake. 13) HYDRAULIC SYSTEM (LOAD SENDSING): This device regulates the flow of hydraulic oil according to the operator's needs. It optimizes movements under any circumstances for accurate, smooth guidance of the truck. It also reduces energy consumption and extends component lifespan. 14) ALL TERRAIN ACCESS: All terrain capacity: The hydrostatic transmission transmits full power to the four drive wheels at any time, by simply pressing the accelerator pedal to tackle the most difficult terrain and slopes. To ensure perfect road-holding, the MHT is equipped with an oscillating axle at the back. With its impressive ground clearance, the MHT can cope with any obstacle. Operating on uneven ground: When you have to allow for uneven ground, the slope corrector is used to keep the chassis horizontal. Maneuverability: the truck has three steering modes. It uses: a. 2 drive wheels for driving on the road. b. 4 drive wheels to improve turning and work in very tight spaces. c. Crabwise movement to provide a different approach to work and careful disengagement.
