Following that, we will worship God, which is the highlight of every week. Included in the sermon will be the showing of our theme. We will also show you are 2012 logo, which was designed by Carissa and Kayla Roberts. 10:00: We will end our worship service a little earlier than normal, and our elders will present a review of our 2011 goals, and will then share our goals for 2012 with us. Our deacons have already seen these goals and are beginning their work on them, so get ready to work! 10:20: Bible classes for all ages. Another weekly highlight that you do not want to miss. If you havent been attending Bible classes lately, this is a great time to start back. 2PM: Services at Sycamores Terrace. Maybe that is the good work you made as your goal a couple of Sunday nights ago! 6:00: Evening worship. In our sermon, we will share with you a special plan I have for getting us back into the Bible through our Sunday night services. 7:00: We will end the night with our 2012 preview video. Shane Williams has prepared the video, and it is outstanding! You will want to stay for the motivation this will give you!
As you can see, we have a lot planned to kick off our year. Lets all be together, and ready to begin 2012 with an encouraging and uplifting day.

I Am Resolved
The hymn I am Resolved, written by Palmer Hartsough in 1896, is one of the most often-used invitation songs, due to its powerful music and far more powerful lyric. The hymn contains strong declarations that only one who is truly motivated to change should be willing to state. Personally, it is one of my favorite songs to use to encourage people to come to the Lord at the conclusion of a sermon. Today being January 1, many of you have written out, typed, or just mentally listed some resolutions for the year that is now beginning. Some might be short-term things to accomplish, while others might take the entire year to complete. Whatever they might be, it is commendable to have such goals that force us to work a little harder and think a little deeper in order to accomplish. My favorite part of the hymn I am Resolved is found in the final verse. When we sing verse four, we sing these words: I am resolved to enter the kingdom, Leaving the paths of sin;
Adam Faughn
Friends may oppose me, foes may beset me, Still will I enter in. The reason that strikes me is that we are boldly stating that there will be opposition to us, as we strive to do what is right. Not everyone thinks that following God and the way of righteousness is the good way to live, and others will outright reject one who is faithful. But, as we sing, still will I enter in! As you make your resolutions and goals for 2012, realize that there will be obstacles in the way. That is true even if you have some goals that deal with your Christian walk. Maybe you resolve to read through the Bible, or to study a particular book in an in-depth fashion. Maybe you resolve to study with a loved one, or to invite a certain number of people to worship each week or month. Each of those (obviously) are great goals, but realize there will be opposition. Sometimes, you might even fail, but dont let that stop you! Be resolved to start these goals, and be resolved to fight through opposition, so that, by the grace of God, you can accomplish them.

Hello everyone, Welcome to 2012! I hope you had a great holiday season. My family passed around a stomach bug this week, let's just say it was the gift that kept on giving! All joking aside, we really did have a great Christmas and I hope you did as well. It is hard to believe 2012 has already begun. I can remember when I was a child watching futuristic shows about the year 2000. Here it is already twelve years past that date! Unbelievable! May your '12 be a great year where you will accomplish many things for yourself and the Lord. I am excited about our congregational goals from the elders. I am also excited about all we may accomplish this year for the Lord. I will try to do all I can to help the church grow at Lebanon Road and I hope you will do the same. Thank you very much! --JD :)
