I am not paying attention, I am called Schultz, and when I hear MR.
SCHULTZ, I stand at attention, like a statue.
I am a Miniature Schnauzer, age 4 years and I weigh about 15 lbs.
My coat is silver/white, many people have said I have a beautiful coat
and that I am a very mellow guy. I guess I take after my birth Mom and
Dad who were both Show Dogs.
Recently, I scared my Mom and Dad without meaning to. They
had taken off my collar with all of the pertinent information, because
they thought I would never have the opportunity or desire to wander
away. Well I showed them! Mr. Schultz
The back gate was open; my Dad was working with the pool
equipment, so I went out to check on him and kept smelling all of the fun smells. I followed the
route my Dad takes when we go for walks. I didn’t know I was LOST until this very nice lady
stopped her car asked me if I was lost. Since I really couldn’t answer her she picked me up and put
me in her car. Her name is Shirley Bowles, a Gold River resident (I now call her Aunt Shirley, my
Guardian Angel.) While in the car looking for help there
was my Mom walking on Gold Country Blvd looking for ***********
me. Shirley asked her if “she was looking for a lost dog?” Kay Burton is a longtime columnist and

years attending public meetings of the
Board, it became evident that the District
is very complicated. It is made up of
diverse communities. It is important to
ask each community to determine its list
of needs, regarding Recreation program
and Park projects.
I will spearhead two task force teams
to determine the needs of the CRPD
regarding (1) recreation modernization
programs, and (2) specific park needs
and renovation improvement projects. I
will take the consolidated new programs
and projects to the Board for action, after
meetings with community spokespersons
to agree on a prioritization of programs
and projects.  I am retired; I have the

Local Residents Work to Save
Energy Around the Globe
Four local Gold River residents
are involved with a global initiative to
reduce the world’s energy bill by 25%.
George Usi, Congressman Dan Lungren,
Gary Stalick, and Geof Lambert are
all involved with the Green Protocol
Working Group which was formed in
July of this year. The group is focused
on saving energy by using the New
Internet which is becoming available
throughout the world over the next 10
years. It is based on a technology known
as IPv6. This new technology will allow
almost an infinite number of objects to
be connected to the Internet network.
The Internet we use today is limited to
4.3 billion IP addresses.
Using new sensor technologies
connected to the New Internet the
consumption of power will be much
more visible, and its use will easily be
able to be viewed and controlled by
going to websites. People will be able to
quickly and easily for the first time see
where every kilowatt of energy is going.
Representatives associated with
governments and non-governmental
organizations from around the world
like the U.S. Federal Government,
China, United Nations, and the State of
California have joined the group.
“Is it possible that the world
could save approximately $2.5 trillion
dollars annually by consuming less
power thanks to the intelligent use of
networked sensors and other emerging
New Internet technologies?” Geof
Lambert, Chair, Green Protocol Working
Group asks, “If you look at the fact that
global consumption of power is equal to
approximately 500 quadrillion BTU’s
of energy, I think it is possible, and I
believe the money saved could be better
used on various humanitarian, greater
good projects around the world such
as getting the internet in the hands of
everybody, not just the fortunate few
15% who have it now.”
The group, headquartered in Gold
River, has identified five high profile
buildings, three in San Francisco,
California, one in Geneva, Switzerland,
and one in Sacramento, California that it
will use to apply emerging New Internet
technologies and use as test control
buildings to demonstrate the potential
savings in power consumption and other

What’s in Your Name?

As a business owner you have gone
through the process of selecting a name
one or more times by now. Coming
up with your business name was the
beginning of an exciting experience.
You first had to go through the process
of deciding the name, and then you
have to head to the county office as
a sole proprietor to check it against
other fictitious business names or to the
secretary of state for your corporation
names. You have to be sure you were
not stepping on any toes and find out
you could not use the name. The same
process is true with your domain name
or your website name.
A few things to consider when
selecting and using your name:
1. Keep it simple and relevant. Don’t
be too cute or fancy. Be as short as
possible without loosing meaning. The
more descriptive the better. It is easy to
remember when it is talking about what
you are doing with the name. The more
words, characters, and difficult is the
name, the less value it has.
2. Check to make sure your chosen name
is available and registered properly for
you before you start publicizing it. Be
careful sometimes when a name appears
to be available, it may be for sale by the
owner.
3. If you come up with a really unique
or creative name that is still available,
don’t just register it as .com pay the
extra fee to get the .net, .org and .info
levels of registration. It additional
to give you more links and possible
exposure, it also prevents a copy cat
creating a similar domain name to rob
off of your success. You can point all
those names to the same website.
4. Register a domain name for every
major project you are working on, even
if it is completely part of your current
business or website. You can point
as many domain names to the same
website. Have you notice how most
movies have their own domain name?
The production house could have you
their main domain name but they don’t.
Beside, your project could become so
big that one day you may want to branch
it out and you will already own the
domain name.
Just like when you first came up
with your business name, the right
domain name is one more thing you can
be very proud of. Take the time to come
up with the right name for you, register
it properly and then promote it with
everything you have.
