Answer All Questions: Question1 (9 Marks) Single phase diode bridge rectifier is connected to 220V, 50Hz supply. The supply has 4mH source inductance. The load connected to the rectifier is 45 A pure DC current.
(a) (2 Marks) Draw, output voltage, diode currents and supply current along with the supply voltage. (b) (4 Marks) Derive an equation for commutation angle and rms value of supply current. (c) (3 Marks) Use the method of Fourier Transform to derive an equation for supply currents.

Question2 (11 Marks) For three phase uncontrolled rectifier with pure DC current load without source inductance shown in Fig.2, draw the following: (a) (1 Marks) The output voltage waveform in waveform (2) of Fig.3. (b) (1 Marks) The currents waveforms of switches 1 to 6 in the waveforms (3) to (8) of Fig.3, (c) (1 Marks) Secondary current of phase b in waveform (9) of Fig.3, (d) (2 Marks) Primary current of phase B in waveform (10) of Fig.3,

Then, (e) (3 Marks) Derive an equation of secondary current ib (t ) waveform by using Fourier transforms. (f) (3 Marks) Find its input power factor and THD at secondary terminals.
