Culture at British Airways: The corporate culture of British Airways was re-shaped with a new mission and vision

after the privatization decision. New training programs were launched and a new appraisal system was incorporated to improve the organizational performance. This new culture encouraged informality, innovation, customer centric attitude, participative management etc. For instance, British Airways changed its mission statement from To be a safe airline to To be a competitive airline in order to respond to the rapidly changing environment. On 10th January 2011, a report has revealed the act of bullying employees at British Airways. A survey of approximately 2000 employees was conducted in November 2010 which showed that about 72% of the employees have witnessed bullying or being bullied by the management. Most common forms of bullying include intimidation, unfair criticism and humiliation. This culture is rooted from the top management and working environment is at its worse which has resulted in a war like situation between the management and the employees.
