Five men will stand for election at the January congregational meeting: Ted Himebook & Craig Baker (elder), and Duane Saxton, Tom Dykema, & Jim Knott (deacon). Elder Bill Grysen has completed 2 terms and is required to take a welldeserved one year sabbatical. Thank you, Bill, for your faithful years of loyal service! Elder Ted Himebook has completed a one year sabbatical, and has been certified by session to stand for reelection to the office of elder. Deacon Duane Saxton and Deacon Dan Kooienga have completed their first term of service as deacons. Duane has indicated a desire and has been certified to stand for election to a 2nd term. Dan has requested a break from service as a deacon. Thank you, dear brothers, for your hard work! Craig Baker, Tom Dykema & Jim Knott have successfully completed officer training class and have been certified to stand for election. Candidates will not be running against each other. Rather, each one who receives a majority vote of confidence at our Congregational Meeting will be installed shortly after the election to serve a 3 year term. Male communicant members in good standing are eligible to be nominated as follows:
1. Please make your nomination in writing and include your signature and the date. Hand the nomination to a member of session. These names will be kept confidential. 2. Each man who has been nominated will be asked to join the Officers' Training Course that will be offered in 2012. A small amount of reading and homework will be assigned. During the course of this year, the men will be asked to prayerfully examine themselves to discern whether they believe God is calling them to this ministry at this time. 3. After the course has been completed, nominees for the office of Elder and Deacon who have faithfully attended the classes will be examined by the Session. Then, the names of those who have been certified by the Session will be announced to the congregation for its prayerful consideration. Only at this point will we have official candidates. 4.
