Festival of Preachers at Georgetown Baptist
Four young preachers with connections to Kentucky Baptist Fellowship shared sermons at the recent Campus Festival of Preaching co-sponsored by Georgetown College and the Academy of Preachers. These were: Brittany Krebs and Andrew Noe, Buechel Park Baptist Church, Louisville; Sara Clarke, Melbourne Heights Baptist Church, Louisville; and McKenzie McIntosh, Trinity Baptist Church, Lexington. Krebs, Noe, and Clark are also students at Baptist Seminary of Kentucky. McIntosh is a high school student in Lexington. Chelsey Constant Joins KBF as Missions Intern

KBF is pleased to announce that Chelsey Constant of Louisville will serve as the KBF Missions Intern for the fall of 2011. She will work alongside the Associate Coordinator of Missions helping to plan, coordinate, and network fall and spring events through the KBF office. Chelsey, a recent graduate of Pleasure Ridge Park High

School in Louisville, is a member of Ridgewood Baptist Church. Through the guidance of her youth minister, Stephanie True, she has discerned God's call on her life to ministry and she is exploring the meaning of this call while serving as the KBF intern this fall. She has been accepted at Georgetown College and plans to begin classes there in 2012. Chelsey can be contacted by calling 502-426-1931 or by emailing intern@kybf.org. The KBF Internship is a 12 week paid internship program held each spring, summer, and fall for college/seminary students to engage with KBF while discerning God's call upon their life. Build Up Hope: KBF Mission Offering Moved to Spring 2012

Materials for the annual KBF Mission Offering "Build Up Hope" will be available beginning in February, 2012. KBF will be encouraging churches to promote the mission offering in April 2012, which will lead up to the KBF Spring Gathering held at Georgetown College April 20-21, 2012. Morocco Gift Cards: Alternatve Christmas Gifts with Meaning

Kentucky Baptist Fellowship will make Morocco Gift Cards available again for Christmas in 2011. Choose a meaningful gift for a loved one and help refugee children and families in Morocco receive the basic necessities in life. Morocco gift cards work by allowing people to purchase greeting cards for various amounts. The card carries a simple phrase like: "A gift has been made in your honor which will purchase one month of food for a refugee family in Morocco by [insert name] to celebrate the Christmas season." The contents of each card vary according to the purchase amount: $5 for a blanket, $10 for a winter coat, or $25 for a month of food, to name a few. If you or your church would like to join in this meaningful Christmas project, contact Joshua Speight at the KBF office (502-426-1931 or josh@kybf.org). The gift cards are available to any church or individual to participate.

EVENTS
Kentucky Council of Churches Gathering
The Kentucky Council of Churches will gather for its 64th Annual Assembly, October 27 28, 2011, at Faith Baptist Church in Georgetown, Kentucky. Delegates from 12 member denominations, as well as observers and visitors from around the Commonwealth, will participate in two days of worship, workshops, and fellowship around the theme "Who Is My Neighbor?" with particular emphasis on immigration policy and ministry. John Lepper, Coordinator of KBF, is currently serving as First Vice President of Kentucky Council of Churches and has participated in planning this year's assembly. Dr. Robert Parham, Exceutive Director of the Baptist Center of Ethics, shown left, will speak during the worship service on Thursday evening. A [Baptist] Conference on Sexuality and Covenant: April 19-21, 2012 in Decatur, GA

Through plenary presentation and smaller Community Dialogue Groups, this Conference, co-sponsored by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and Center for Theology and Public Life at Mercer University, aims to provide Baptists and other interested Christians an opportunity for honest, compassionate, and prayerful dialogue around matters and questions of sexuality. Concluding a year-long practice of prayerful covenant community, presenters and facilitators (both Baptist and non-Baptist) will offer diverse perspectives that encourage thoughtful reflection and conversation among participants.
