Festival of Preachers at Georgetown Baptist
Four young preachers with connections to Kentucky Baptist Fellowship shared sermons at the recent Campus Festival of Preaching co-sponsored by Georgetown College and the Academy of Preachers. These were: Brittany Krebs and Andrew Noe, Buechel Park Baptist Church, Louisville; Sara Clarke, Melbourne Heights Baptist Church, Louisville; and McKenzie McIntosh, Trinity Baptist Church, Lexington. Krebs, Noe, and Clark are also students at Baptist Seminary of Kentucky. McIntosh is a high school student in Lexington. School in Louisville, is a member of Ridgewood Baptist Church. Through the guidance of her youth minister, Stephanie True, she has discerned God's call on her life to ministry and she is exploring the meaning of this call while serving as the KBF intern this fall. She has been accepted at Georgetown College and plans to begin classes there in 2012. Chelsey can be contacted by calling 502-426-1931 or by emailing intern@kybf.org. The KBF Internship is a 12 week paid internship program held each spring, summer, and fall for college/seminary students to engage with KBF while discerning God's call upon their life. EVENTS
Kentucky Council of Churches Gathering
The Kentucky Council of Churches will gather for its 64th Annual Assembly, October 27 28, 2011, at Faith Baptist Church in Georgetown, Kentucky. Delegates from 12 member denominations, as well as observers and visitors from around the Commonwealth, will participate in two days of worship, workshops, and fellowship around the theme "Who Is My Neighbor?" with particular emphasis on immigration policy and ministry. John Lepper, Coordinator of KBF, is currently serving as First Vice President of Kentucky Council of Churches and has participated in planning this year's assembly. Dr. Robert Parham, Exceutive Director of the Baptist Center of Ethics, shown left, will speak during the worship service on Thursday evening.
