Gurprit.best: nankana sahib ? harprit.gr8: yes , this is the present name of the place , at the time it was called RAI BHOYE KI TALWANDI , the person who was ruler of the place attached the entire land , farms and city to guru nanak dev ji s name on his death so the city came to be known as NAnkana sahib . harprit.gr8: why I quoted this principle is because all sikh gurus propagated this principle through there own life , in order to spread and preach his idea Guru nanak dev ji under took 3 missionary tours called as udasis , remember this term udasis being used for missionary tours of guru nana k dev ji , I will ask tomorrow Gurprit.best:ok harprit.gr8:before going on this tours guru nanak dev ji did earn his livelihood by working and once these tours were over he earned his livelihood by doing farming . Gurprit.best:k, I never knew dis harprit.gr8: guru nanak dev worked on a very important position under the ruler of sultanpur in his food department . the basic thing is Sikhism is not a religion to be preached but a religion to be practiced , so our gurus did practically wat they wanted us to practice in our daily life . harprit.gr8: as guru nanak dev ji preached equality of all religion and at that time Hinduism and islam were major religion and nawab him self was muslim . People who hated growing popularity of guru nanak dev ji asked nawab to invite guru nanak dev ji for rendering service in mosque ( muslim worship place )they had hoped that guru nanak dev ji will never agree for this so they will succeed in showing that guru ji s preaching of equality was not real . but guru ji agreed to participate in quraan reading ( the religious service in muslim worship place) . When people gathered for quran reading guru nanak also went but wen the service started all muslims knelt down but guru ji kept standing once the service was over all muslims complained to nawab , who was also dere in mosque , that guru nanak dev ji did not participate in quran reading instead insulted them by keeping standing during quraan reading .when nawab questioned guru nanak dev ji on this .He replied with whom should have I read the quraan as both qazi and nawab were not present in the mosque to this people replied that both of them were there in mosque to which guru nanak dev ji said they were physically present but not mentally, qazi was worried about his pregnant mare tied in his verandah that she may give birth to calf and that may fall in well and nawab sahib was worried about the delay in delivery of horses arriving from Kabul .At this all were astonished and nawab and qazi were ashamed .
