WISE Abroad Internship Application

The application below is only to be used by students who are intent on applying for a WISE Abroad program and completing the application process. The application will not be processed until WISE Abroad receives the $70 application fee. * If you are seeking a WISE Abroad Work and Travel USA program, Teach English in Taiwan or Costa Rica program, or Study Abroad program please click the "Apply Now" button on the menu list of the website to obtain forms for these programs.

Eligibility: 1. College students and recently graduated college students are eligible to apply to this program. Applicants
2. must have at least a 2.25 GPA average (on a 4.0 scale). A valid and current passport is required of all students prior to departure. Students must have a demonstrated ability to function effectively in a cross-cultural environment and to uphold a positive image of their home university or country of origin. Complete a contract form which includes all rules, regulations and requirements. Basic to intermediate conversational ability in Spanish is required for participants interested in interning in Spanish speaking destinations, unless you plan to participate in the internship/language program.

What is provided?
WISE Abroad will make the following arrangements:

7. departure, and orientation session upon arrival. Welcome reception at airport and group ground transfers from airport to living location if arrival occurs on program date within the host country. Six week to eight week internship placement related to students major or career aspirations, and two to three week language course for those students who choose the language/internship program. Living accommodations with a host family (students in Italy live in apartments). Frequent contact with country manager. Group activities and weekend excursions. Basic Health Insurance.

Application Procedures:
You must complete the application below, save the documents as a Word or RTF document, and send the document over email as an attachment to wise@wiseabroad.org (email is preferable). Or you may also mail the application with other required documents to WISE Abroad * P.O Box 15814 * College Station, TX 77841 USA. In addition to submitting this form, you must also send the following information over email preferably to wise@wiseabroad.org. Your application will not be considered complete until all supporting documents are received. The application and documents must be submitted no later than two to three months before the internship program begins (applications for France are due no later than March 15)

Your official academic transcripts (unofficial transcripts are acceptable). 1 personal photo (we prefer that you email the photo in jpg format or you may mail it as well); photo will be sent to your host family. A Cover Letter: Please submit a cover letter describing the type of work you are seeking. You may wish to state two internship options in case your first choice is not available. While WISE Abroad is successful in finding internships that are closely related to your major, there may be times when we cannot accommodate your Exact preferences. A current resume: Please include brief details of any relevant previous work experiences, name of employers, and time spent in each job. Resume will be given to the Country Director. The Recommendation Form from an advisor, faculty or employer. You may scan this document and send it over email, or your recommender may mail the recommendation to WISE Abroad.
