PREFACE

Institutional training, which is a part of Bachelor of Corporate Secretaryship course designed to achieve a job oriented experience.

The Bachelor of Corporate Secretaryship course was introduced by the University of Madras with the objective of establishing knowledge about the corporate sector among the students. This type of training is very useful to the students, which enable them to learn practical aspects in corporate sectors.

I have done my institutional training at DECCAN FINANCE LIMITED, and it is my privilege to submit the report based on my training experience at DFL.

Departmentation is a part of organisation process. It involves the grouping of common activities under a single persons control. The activity r grouped under the basis of function of the organisation. Chief executive of the concerned organisation does this work. Departmentation is an essential element in the modern business world. A single individual cannot look after all the business activities. The classified activities bring in specialization and managerial convenience. Departments are classified as Product wise, Process wise or Area wise. It ensures proper direction and control. In Deccan Finance Limited there are three major departments. They are: Finance Department Management Department Accounts Department FINANCE DEPARTMENT: Finance Department of a business takes responsibility for organising the financial and accounting affairs, including the preparation and presentation of appropriate accounts and the provision of financial information for managers. Functions Of Finance department: 1) Book keeping 2) Obtaining and managing finance 3) Budget control 4) Accounts payable 5) Accounts receivable 6) Credit regulations and policies 7) Bill processing / Claim processing

MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT: The Department of Management combines business management, human resource management, public policy and economics. All disciplines have an established reputation for the delivery of quality courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and also has a strong background in consultancy and training for the corporate market. ACCOUNTS DEPARTMENT: In every company an Accounts Department plays a vital role. It maintains a records and books of a company.
