-1OPERATION THIS IS the DESTINATION Party and guests begin to eat about 4:45 PM.

Heather and Colin excuse themselves about 5:00 to prepare. WEDDING commences at 5:15 PM Keith: (getting attention) Colin and Heather want to express their appreciation for your presence at this happy gathering. Will you lift your hearts with mine as we pray for them? (Extemporaneous prayer) Colin and Heather have asked me to assist in the celebration and blessing of their upcoming life together. Would you kindly find a seat where you can see and hear Colin and Heather, as they join me here momentarily? Cue Music: Love Never Fails, Brandon Heath Colin comes down (joins Keith at Keiths left) * Yes this is correct. Ill just come down and stand beside you once the music begins playing Michael and Heather come down center aisle, arm in arm, stop in front of Keith. GREETING Keith: Dearly beloved, we are gathered together in the sight of God to witness and bless the joining together of Bryan Colin Stacy and Heather Leann Morris in Christian marriage. (destination) The covenant of marriage was established by God, who created us male and female for each other. With his presence and power Jesus graced a wedding at Cana of Galilee, and in his sacrificial love gave us the example for the love of husband and wife. Colin and Heather come to give themselves to one another in this holy covenant. Who gives this woman to be married to this man? Michael: I do. (Dads moment with Heather Michael gives Heather to Colin, who takes her

arm. Michael goes to his seat.) DECLARATION OF INTENTION Keith: I ask you now, in the presence of God and these people, to declare your intention to enter into union with each other through the grace of Jesus Christ, who calls you into union with himself as acknowledged in your baptism. Keith to Heather: Heather, will you have Colin to be your husband, to live together in holy marriage? Will you love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others, be faithful to him as long as you both shall live? Heather: I will. Keith to Colin: Colin, will you have Heather to be your wife, to live together in holy marriage? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others, be faithful to her as long as you both shall live? Colin: I will RESPONSE OF THE FAMILIES AND THE PEOPLE Keith to parents: The marriage of Colin and Heather unites their families and creates a new one. They ask for your blessing. Parents of Colin and of Heather, do you, who represent their families, rejoice in their union and pray God's blessing upon them? Colins and Heathers parents:* This looks great to me; it will be really good to incorporate them into this. We do. Pastor to people: Will all of you, by God's grace, do everything in your power to uphold and care for these two persons in their marriage?

People: We will. PRAYER (I am inclined to omit a prayer here).* If you are inclined to do so then that is perfectly fine with me, honestly. So itd go right into the reading of Scripture/homily? You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being. You show us the way, the truth and the life. Author and perfector of our faith, You redeem everyone who comes to you. We praise you for covenant of love with us, And for the covenant of love Colin and Heather enter this day. READING of SCRIPTURE the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. Ge 2:15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. Ge 2:18 The LORD God said, It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him. Ge 2:21 So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the mans ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Ge 2:22 Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. Ge 2:23 The man said, This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, for she was taken out of man. Ge 2:24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
Ge 2:7

HOMILY PRAYER Let us pray. Eternal God, creator and preserver of all life, Author of salvation, Giver of all grace:

Bless and sanctify with your Holy Spirit Colin and Heather, who come now to join in marriage. Grant that they may give their vows to each other in the strength of your steadfast love. Enable them to grow in love and peace with you and with one another for all of their days that they may reach out in concern and service to your world through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. THE MARRIAGE EXCHANGE OF VOWS (Colin and Heather face each other, joining hands.) Colin to Heather:* (Please provide me your vows) We will be sending you these soon; Ill speak to Heather about it tomorrow. In the name of God, I, Colin, take you, Heather, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until we are parted by death. This is my solemn vow. Heather to Colin:* (Please provide me your vows) In the name of God, I, Heather, take you, Colin, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until we are parted by death. This is my solemn vow. BLESSING AND EXCHANGE OF RINGS Keith: The wedding rings are the outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace, signifying to all the uniting of Colin and Heather in holy marriage. Colin, repeat after me.

Heather, I give you this ring as a sign of my vow, and with all that I am, and all that I have, I honor you; in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Heather, repeat after me. Colin, I give you this ring as a sign of my vow, and with all that I am, and all that I have, I honor you; in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. DECLARATION OF MARRIAGE (Heather and Colin join hands.) Keith to people: Now that Colin and Heather have given themselves to each other by solemn vows, with the joining of hands, and the giving and receiving of rings , I announce to you that they are husband and wife; in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Those whom God has joined together, let no one put asunder. Amen. COMMUNION Colin and Heather have asked that this service of worship of our Lord include a celebration of communion. * Ill see if someone from the family will do that. We could let the caterers have them, and then they give them to someone to give. Thats fine. The Lord himself ordained this holy sacrament. He commanded His disciples to partake of the bread and wine, emblems of His broken body and shed blood. This is His table. The feast is for His disciples. Let all those who have with true repentance forsaken their sins, and have believed

in Christ unto salvation, draw near and take these emblems, and, by faith, partake of the life of Jesus Christ, to your souls comfort and joy. Let us remember that it is the memorial of the death and passion of our Lord; also a token of His coming again. Let us not forget that we are one, at one table with the Lord. We are reminded that in the same night that our Lord was betrayed, He took bread and, when He had given thanks, He broke it and gave it to His disciples, saying, This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me. (hands bread to Colin) Likewise, after supper, He took the cup, and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me. (hands wine to Heather) Father, May we come before You in true humility and faith as we partake of this holy sacrament. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Cue Communion Music: The Church, Derek Webb (additional songs)* Yes, I will probably have a playlist for the communion, three or four songs. During communion: Colin: The body of Christ broken for you. Heather: The blood of Christ shed for you. (Serve people as they come, then Keith, then each other.) BLESSING: The LORD bless you and keep you; Nu 6:25 the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; Nu 6:26 the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.
Nu 6:24
