My Personal Philosophy of Classroom Management o I believe it is imperative to implement an effective classroom management plan to ensure that each student is receiving the best quality of education possible. o Each student is expected to behave appropriately and treat each other with respect. o I believe it is important to provide a strong, educational environment to help promote participation, determination, and success. o I believe it is important to get to know each students personal and educational background to help enhance your knowledge on the students development, progress, and performance. o Getting to know each student will also provide opportunity for a better quality education by specifically targeting each students learning style and individual educational needs. o I believe it is important to set a good example for each student by working hard and maintaining involvement in the students activities. o It is especially important that I provide the students opportunity for advancement and growth with every lesson, activity, and assessment. o The classroom should remain organized, educationally attractive, and structured to promote an effective learning environment. o The classroom should obtain any and all resources necessary to conduct a lesson, activity, or assessment. o Any resources provided in the classroom should be set up and remain in a designated place easily accessible for the students.

Austin 4 A List of rules for student behavior and their positive/negative consequences o Classroom Expectations o Students are expected not to talk during lesson/lecture time. o Students should raise his or her hand and wait to be called upon to speak. o Students should treat other classmates, teachers, and other professional staff with respect. o Students should bring to class and enter class with the appropriate material, books, and/or assignments. o Students are expected to follow time management responsibilities when arriving to class and submitting completed assignments.

o Classroom Consequences o Students will be given a verbal warning when engaging in unacceptable behaviors. o Students will be given a written warning when engaging in an unacceptable behavior after they have already received. This warning will also need to be sent home and signed by the students parents or guardians. o If the unacceptable behavior continuous, further disciplinary action will be taken depending on the situation and necessary consequence.

A task analysis of one classroom procedure At the beginning of each class period students are expected to enter the room in a timely manner, place any homework in the designated basket, and sit at his or her assigned desk. Once all students have completed these tasks, they will begin the Daily Discussion Questions as I take role. Providing students with Daily Discussion Questions allows the students brain to start

Austin 5 working and thinking critically prior to the presentation of the new material. This also provide accurate time for me to take role, discuss any issues that students have, and make any notes prior to the start of class. I believe it is important to use this time to take control of the classroom, enlighten the students on the days/week/s agenda, and prepare for the new material.

A substitute teacher plan for expectations and routines I believe it is very important that substitute teachers are provided with effective and supportive material and classroom management plan information to ensure that the students receive a good lesson of the new material regardless of who is teaching it. Students are expected to behave appropriately and any unnecessary behavior should not be tolerated. Substitute teachers should expect the students to perform their beginning of class tasks as normal and wait to be instructed further. After the students have completed these tasks, the substitute teacher should be able to instruct the new lesson according to the specific agenda designated for the lesson on that specific day. The students should behave appropriate as expected and allow the substitute teacher to instruct the class as necessary.

My classroom management implementation plan I plan to implement my classroom management plan everyday of class. I believe implementing an effective classroom management plan is very important in ensure that you are educating each student to the best of your ability with minimal distractions. I also believe that classroom management plans help keep a smooth pace, structure, and organization within the classroom, lesson, and flow from day to day. Not only is it important to implement an effective classroom management plan during lessons, it is important to implement any expectations,

Austin 6 guidelines, and consequences. I plan to continuously implement, shape, and develop my classroom management plan until it is most effective and promotes the best quality of education possible.

A strategy for assessing your classroom management plan I believe it is extremely important that an effective classroom management plan is implemented consistently. Without consistency, students will not be exposed to an effective and properly implemented classroom management. I believe it will be most effective to create a positive learning environment that helps that students concentrate, participate, and increase performance results. I believe and effective classroom management plan should be implemented throughout the various teaching methods used. Implementing strategies while teaching and creating lesson plans can often help maintain better control throughout the lesson. Not only will a classroom management plan help enhance new lessons, it will also better prepare students and keep their attention for upcoming topics. I believe there are various strategies that can be implemented within the lessons, assessment, and involvement within the classroom.

Austin 9 Conclusion Classroom management plans are important to create and implement throughout the school year. Students benefit endlessly from effective classroom management plans academically and developmentally. I believe it is important that every teacher implements a strong classroom management plan to help better the education of each student and increase future opportunities. My classroom management philosophies are based on expectations, guidelines, and personal theories that have been shaped by my education and experiences. With time, I am confident that my classroom management plan will continue to shape, develop, and grow with more knowledge and experience.
