Survey on Job Satisfaction in IT Company.

Abstract This research is based on the study of employees at various Software Company in Nepal and was conducted as a part of the EMBA, 4th Term, and BRM Course requirement. For over 10 years, IT companies have been delivering customer-driven IT programming services to a very broad and varied customer base. This company provides custom-made IT solutions. In consultation with the customer, these companies use the most suited technology (.NET, PHP, Flex, Flash or Java). IT company of Nepal have always focused on activities to increase the level of satisfaction among its employees by providing better working environment, sponsorship trainings, team building activities like sport events, arranging for free movie show, certification trainings, etc. It has reduced the weekly working days from six to five and increased the total annual leave facility. Management has a view that most of the staffs at all level are satisfied. The factors leading to job satisfaction and organizational commitment in the software field are poorly understood. This research is conducted to find out whether the employees of IT companies in Nepal are satisfied with their job and understand the relationships of Job Tenure, Position, Marital Status and Gender with job satisfaction and organizational commitment and the implications. Age variable was also included as a part of study as more than 90% of the employees are in the same age group (26 Years to 31 Years).
