An hour a week is not that
My Dear People:
The election of a new president is nine days
from today; and if ever there were an
emotion-filled concern over the election, this
is the year. There are such strong opinions
on either side. So the request has been
made by fourteen people for us to have
adoration in the church from Monday
morning till Tuesday night. My response is
that the Chapel of Our Savior is open 24
hours a day. Call the office for the
combination.
I am forever praying for the successful
outcome of this election without being
expressly partisan. We are repeatedly
warned by the government that as a church
receiving donations that are tax-deductible,
we are not to publicaly advocate a political
candidate. We are all to look at the moral
issues at stake and vote according to our
conscience. Flyers on cars are not
acceptable. There is no substitute for prayer.
The Chapel of Our Savior being open 24
hours a day,I hope many people find their
way there for prayer on the 3rd and 4th of
November. On Tuesday, we already have
three Masses scheduled, the third being the
VIP Mass in the Church Hall at 11:00 a.m. All
are invited.
A Parishioner has brought to my attention
that many people leave Sunday Mass early.
The Parishioner writes: “It has to be accepted
that some folks may not be feeling well;
some folks have to get home to take care of
an ailing member of the family; some have
small children that have already over-tested
the patience of the parents; and some might
have a personal commitment (hopefully not
golf or a game to watch).” However, there
are those with “no excuse” who do leave
early”.
In last Sunday’s Gospel Jesus made a
point…“give to God what is God’s” and the
parishioner feels the FULL Mass on Sunday
belongs to God.

another ten minutes, it belongs to God to
stay and receive that last blessing God gives
through the priest.
As part of the new Columbarium Garden to
be constructed in front of the OLS rectory,
there will be a Granite Memorial Wall
included in Phase I construction.
This Memorial Wall will be a monument
having places to attach an engraved 6”x 4”,
black, polished granite plaque. OLS will
laser engrave the name, date of birth and
date of death of a parishioner, or their
spouse or family member, and then
permanently attach the plaque to the wall.
This will be a way to remember and honor a
loved one who has already been called by
the Lord and is interred in another location.
The price for each plaque is $500.00. There
are no discounts offered as the available
space is very limited. Plaques will be sold on
a first come first served basis and will be
located on the wall from top to bottom in the
order received.
You can call the office this week for a plaque
reservation application. Phase I has 200
niches with 123 niches already sold...

SPIRITUAL ADOPTION PROGRAM
We are praying in a special way for unborn
children who are at risk of being aborted. We
encourage you to “spiritually adopt” a baby by
praying for him/her everyday. Please look for the
new cards in the pews this Sunday. They
describe the development of your adopted baby
for this month. It is not too late to begin to
participate in the program if you have not yet

Welcome for PSR and OLS

Priesthood Sunday is this Sunday, October
26th. It is celebrated annually on the last Sunday
of October and is coordinated and sponsored by
the USA Council of Serra International along with
the Serra International Foundation. Priesthood
Sunday is a day set aside for every level of the
Church in the United States to reflect upon and
affirm the role of the priesthood in the life of the
Catholic Church.
