Hotfix 4 functions
New features in Hotfix 4

By installing this Hotfix you enable the integration of WinCC flexible in SIMOTION SCOUT . The integration of WinCC flexible in SIMOTION SCOUT is subject to certain restrictions, which are described in the chapter project data. Note Note on terms used: Integrated mode: WinCC flexible runs in the context of SIMOTION SCOUT Non-integrated operation: WinCC flexible runs as a stand-alone application. In it, you can process SIMOTION projects just as you would in integrated operation.

System requirements
The following requirements have to be met to ensure trouble-free operation of WinCC flexible integrated in SIMOTION SCOUT: Memory: 4 GB Processor: Dual Core

Features
If you configure WinCC flexible in integrated operation in SIMOTION SCOUT, you are putting a high demand on the system memory. That is the reason why some UseCases are not permitted in this operating mode. These restrictions are described in the chapter "project data". You cannot execute non-permitted UseCases in non-integrated operation. If a user works in integrated operation, there is a risk that memory usage may be pushed to its limits. To signal this state in time, we have implemented the new function "Display memory usage in toolbar".

Display of memory usage in toolbar of SIMOTION SCOUT

For fault-free integration of WinCC flexible, a new function monitors the memory usage of the configuration PC during integrated operation of WinCC flexible in SIMOTION SCOUT. Note Data loss with memory overload The message "Application will be terminated without save" will be displayed, if the application uses the entire memory allocated to this application by the Windows operating system. SIMOTION SCOUT will be terminated automatically and all changes after the last save process will be lost. Do not continue working on your WinCC flexible project in integrated operation in SIMOTION SCOUT. Open the project directly in WinCC flexible and continue working in non-integrated operation.

Operation of button "Memory usage"

If you move the mouse cursor over the button "Memory usage", you will see a tooltip that indicates the actual state of memory usage in percent.

If you click on the button "Memory usage", you will see the actual state of the memory usage in a message box. In case of memory overload, proceed as follows: Acknowledge this message: "Application will be terminated without save". Exit the DOS box with confirmation by pressing any key. Open the project in WinCC flexible and continue working on the project in nonintegrated operation.

Features of integrated operation
Note the following restrictions for integrated operation of WinCC flexible in SIMOTION SCOUT.

If you try to open a project with HMI percentage in integrated operation, you will receive an error message if the versions of SIMOTION Scout and/or WinCC flexible do not correspond to a valid release combination. Only the following applications are to run simultaneously: 2x SIMOTION SCOUT 1x SIMOTION SCOUT + 1x WinCC flexible Conversion of projects in STAND-ALONE mode only. Cancel the conversion of the WinCC flexible project after opening a project of the previous version of WinCC flexible in SIMOTION SCOUT. Copy devices and mass operations (copying several screens) may take place in STAND-ALONE operation only. Only images which do not contain faceplate instances may be placed in the library. "Small" projects may be processed in integrated operation. You can process new projects in integrated operation during the initial phase; project consistency cannot be ensured as soon as the project data has been exceeded and you will have to continue working on the project in STAND-ALONE mode. Large projects may be processed in STAND-ALONE mode only. Note The new function "Memory monitoring" in the SIMOTION SCOUT toolbar will support you in not exceeding the capacity of your configuration PC. The message "Application will be terminated without save" will be displayed, if the application uses the entire memory allocated to this application by the Windows operating system.
