History York The story of York's rise to success dates back to 1874, when 6 residents from the city of YORK in Pennsylvania, USA, began manufacturing ice machines. The first ever commercial ice machine was developed in 1885 and exported to Japan in 1898. Today, the name YORK is synonymous with heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC&R) equipment and products. It has grown from a humble beginning to become one of the largest air conditioner equipment manufacturers in the world. Its comprehensive range of products caters to every segment of the market - from homes to hotels, business centres to shopping complexes, clubhouses to condominiums and offices to hospitals. Some of the well known landmarks that rely on YORK cooling comfort are the KLCC Twin Towers, Britain's House of Parliament, the Sydney Opera House, the Capitol Building in Washington, Eiffel Tower, World Trade Center, Labuan Financial Park and the 1998 Commonwealth Games Village. YORK's comprehensive range of products are complemented by a wide range of specifications, for example, cooling capacity of 3/4hp split air-conditioners to 11,300hp chillers to meet all requirements. OYL Background O.Y.L. MANUFACTURING COMPANY SDN BHD O.Y.L. Manufacturing Company Sdn. Bhd. (OYLM) established a new manufacturing plant in Sungai Buloh in 2006. The total built up area for the plant is 115,214 square metres while the factory area is 99,440 square metres. We want to achieve a level of quality that will provide satisfaction to all our customers. As such, OYLM has invested USD40 million for the building and facilities. There are 11 main assembly lines to manufacture three main product ranges as follows:Residential Light commercial Commercial

OYLMs products are distributed to over 55 countries throughout five continents. The types of airconditioning brands manufactured in this plant are : ACSON McQuay Daikin York OYLM markets 35% of its products domestically under ACSON and York and 65% are exported under the brand McQuay and ACSON. We are also the licensed manufacturer for York brand of air conditioners in Malaysia. OYLM's products go through stringent quality testing and strictly fulfill the International Certification Standards, some of which are as follows: MS ISO 9002 (1991 Quality system- Model for Quality Assurance in Production and Installation) MS ISO 9002 (1994 Quality system- Model for Quality Assurance in Production, Installation and Servicing) MS ISO 9001 (2000 Quality system- Model for Quality Management Systems - Requirement SASO (Saudi Arabian Standard Organisation) in Saudi Arabia, ETL (Electro Testing Lab) in North America, MEW (Ministry of Electric and Water) in Kuwait, CE mark for EC countries. OYLM is the only air-conditioning manufacturer in Malaysia producing a wide range of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning ) equipment for the Malaysian and global export markets from basic residential air-conditioners to high technology light commercial and commercial heat pump, air-cooled and water-cooled chillers with larger capacity of up to 75 horse power. The integration of Daikin and OYL Group has enabled OYLM to capitalize on each other's strengths and compensate for each other's weaknesses as well as develop business and improve profitability in ways not possible individually. Some of the improvement initiatives that have been implemented and enhanced included the 5S activities, line balancing, Kanban system, Kiken Yochi Activity (KYA) and the establishment of an in-house Training Centre. RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CENTRE SDN BHD To entrench its leadership position in the air-conditioning industry in Malaysia, OYLM has dedicated its extensive resources to research and development of innovative, high efficiency Heating, Ventilation and Air-conditioning (HVAC) technologies that support the environment and provide reliable solutions for customers worldwide. O.Y.L. Research & Development Centre Sdn Bhd was established 1998. It is located next to our manufacturing plant in Sungai Buloh. It is the largest air-conditioner R&D centre in South-East Asia, with a total built up area of 7,340 square meters. Since OYLM developed its first local R&D test laboratory in 1987, it has created many innovative products that have set the benchmark for the air-conditioning industry. Some of the best examples of its R&D successes are the revolutionary Built-In Starter and Fast Cooling Technology.
