History York The story of York's rise to success dates back to 1874, when 6 residents from the city of YORK in Pennsylvania, USA, began manufacturing ice machines. The first ever commercial ice machine was developed in 1885 and exported to Japan in 1898. Today, the name YORK is synonymous with heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC&R) equipment and products. It has grown from a humble beginning to become one of the largest air conditioner equipment manufacturers in the world. Its comprehensive range of products caters to every segment of the market - from homes to hotels, business centres to shopping complexes, clubhouses to condominiums and offices to hospitals. OYL Background O.Y.L. MANUFACTURING COMPANY SDN BHD O.Y.L. Manufacturing Company Sdn. Bhd. (OYLM) established a new manufacturing plant in Sungai Buloh in 2006. The total built up area for the plant is 115,214 square metres while the factory area is 99,440 square metres. We want to achieve a level of quality that will provide satisfaction to all our customers. As such, OYLM has invested USD40 million for the building and facilities. The types of airconditioning brands manufactured in this plant are : ACSON McQuay Daikin York OYLM markets 35% of its products domestically under ACSON and York and 65% are exported under the brand McQuay and ACSON. We are also the licensed manufacturer for York brand of air conditioners in Malaysia. O.Y.L. Research & Development Centre Sdn Bhd was established 1998. It is located next to our manufacturing plant in Sungai Buloh. It is the largest air-conditioner R&D centre in South-East Asia, with a total built up area of 7,340 square meters.
