Triple Entry Journal Format: Object Description/Title: Bible Home

Observations: Possibly Includes: Literal visual descriptions Literal facts Key terms that pop out Descriptions of content (this applies particularly for literary texts). Black on the outside, with white pages and black and red writing. My name engraved in the front in silver. Sacred book, and it has sentimental value. Very well written but it was written a long time ago so the English is somewhat out of date. It still has the same meaning though. Have many different chapters and many different books within.

Reactions: Possibly Includes: Immediate reactions Questions Emotional response

Conclusions: Possibly Includes: Use evidence to decide what is reasonable to conclude about how the object has influenced your reading, writing, and communication skills. Answer questions you had. Pose possible theories. This object has influenced my reading because at an early age I was read the stories of the bible and they were a high level reading. So it helped me to become a more intelligent reader. This book was one of the first books that I ever started reading. The stories inside the book were intriguing.

The immediate reaction when you see a bible is Christian. My bible and me used to be closer than we are now. I have not had as much time to indulge in the reading. My parents, for graduation gave it to me. To tell me to never lose my faith.

Broad Conclusion About Observation: Possibly Includes: Reflect on the data, responses, and conclusions you have documented above. Using the conclusions you have drawn about the object, decide what broader conclusions can be made about how your object has influenced the development of your reading, writing, and communication skills (remember that these conclusions can speak to how you have been influenced both positively and negatively). I found that the bible was one of the main influences of literature in my life. From looking at the book from the outside you wouldnt know that it could change your life. But I can and it will if you get deep into it. My parents led me to start reading it and it has influenced my entire life. It made me a more intelligent reader

Triple Entry Journal Format: Object Description/Title: Money WORK

Observations: Possibly Includes: Literal visual descriptions Literal facts Key terms that pop out Descriptions of content (this applies particularly for literary texts). The only thing that helped me to read at work was money. The only reason that I worked was for money. I learned a little bit of Spanish but that was only because I wanted to make money.

Reactions: Possibly Includes: Immediate reactions Questions Emotional response

Conclusions: Possibly Includes: Use evidence to decide what is reasonable to conclude about how the object has influenced your reading, writing, and communication skills. Answer questions you had. Pose possible theories. I conclude that the only reason that my work helped me literally is because it showed me how to read paychecks and how to read the money I made. It taught me a small amount of Spanish. I worked because I made money and because the work was rewarding.

Wow. This guy is a terrible worker because he is there for the money. I worked hard because I didnt want to rip my boss off. Why work if you dont enjoy it? It was hard work but it was rewarding.

The only positive thing that I can draw from my working experience is that it taught me how to be a hard

worker. It taught me how to be wise with my money and it taught me how to work through hard times and heat. I didnt learn much about literature but I did learn a lot about life and myself.

Triple Entry Journal Format: Object Description/Title: No specific object School

Observations: Possibly Includes: Literal visual descriptions Literal facts Key terms that pop out Descriptions of content (this applies particularly for literary texts). I have no specific object that I could use to define my literary experiences from school. I can tell you that I remember very vividly many of the things that I was taught in school that helped me with my literary experiences. My English teacher is the main person that assisted me in gaining the most knowledge about literature that I have ever gained in one year.

Reactions: Possibly Includes: Immediate reactions Questions Emotional response

Conclusions: Possibly Includes: Use evidence to decide what is reasonable to conclude about how the object has influenced your reading, writing, and communication skills. Answer questions you had. Pose possible theories. My entire school experience and learnings helped influence my reading, writing, and communication skills. If I hadnt learned the alphabet I wouldnt be able to write at all. There is no single object that I can single out to define my schooling experience with literature. Because it is all in my head. The only thing that I can think of for an object is my brain.

Why cant you pick an object? Why is it so hard to single out one thing that defines 12 years of your entire life? Literature does not make me emotional at all.

The conclusion that I can draw from this observation is that there is to many years put into school to pull out one object that can describe school for you. I had to use something that would give me a broad range of years. The only thing that I could come up with was my brain. There is to much that I have learned to single out a single thing that has influenced my literary experience at school.

Triple Entry Journal Format: Object Description/Title: XBOX 360

Observations: Possibly Includes: Literal visual descriptions Literal facts Key terms that pop out

Descriptions of content (this applies particularly for literary texts). Black Xbox with silver tray and silver hard drive. Grey power cord and HDMI cable to the back of the TV. Black, red, white controllers. Headset that is used to communicate with other players. Words on the side that say Xbox 360. And 120 GB Hard Drive. How the heck does this have anything to do with literature? Why would you use this object to describe literature for your peers?

writing, and communication skills. Answer questions you had. Pose possible theories. This object has helped me to communicate with so many of my friends and it has helped me to learn how to use communication t figure many things out. When you cant see someone you have to use communication to get your point across or to tell directions and descriptions. Xbox Live has everything to do with language and literature. If you cant read then you are not able to play the game or communicate. Me and my friends have had some great and funny times over Xbox Live.

Xbox 360 has been a big part of my literary life. It has taught me to become a better communicator and a better direction giver. Xbox live taught me how to communicate to my friends and my teammates to get points across to them, without seeing them. I have had many great times and experiences on Xbox Live with my friends and I wouldnt trade the time or experiences for anything.
