Intermediate Coupling for Separate Shafts Depending on the can length, operating speed and pump size two shafts may be required. Where this is the case a rigid SKF OK type coupling is used. Working Principle of the Coupling The coupling consists of a thin internal sleeve which is slightly tapered and fits within a larger external sleeve whose bore is also slightly tapered. Injecting oil between the two sleeves by means of a small hand pump forces the outer sleeve over the internal sleeve resulting in the tapers locking together.

ADVANTAGES
h Lowered suction impeller allows operation even under extreme surface conditions. h Only one shaft seal. h Compact space requirement through vertical design. h No static seals under discharge pressure to atmosphere. h Shaft seal operates at suction pressure. h Balance piston also acts as a hydrodynamic radial bearing. h Oil lubricated anti-friction bearings. h Rotation independent internal oil circulation. h Hydrodynamic radial bearing located at the pumps second stage. h Precisely aligned shaft due to hydraulically shrunk coupling.

DESIGN OPTIONS
TTMC Standard design with can The length of the can will be calculated in such a way to produce sufficient suction pressure for the impeller first stage, thus preventing cavitation. Special design without can For vertical installation with small space consumption in an existing pipework. TMC
TTMC compact Compact design with can An overfloor installation is only possible, if there is enough NPSHA at the suction side. Sealless version

Magnetically driven pump. The outer magnetic rotor is fixed direct on the motor shaft. The pump rotor will be held suspended in a strong magnetic field created by a permanent magnetic axial thrust bearing.
