SLA Set ups Step1: Create a new Account Derivation Rule (ADR)

The example shown here is for the Output type Flexfield. You can also define for conditions for each Segment using the Output type as Segment. Step2: Define conditions for the new ADR defined in step1. This example shows three conditions for Inventory valuation account

Step3: Create a new Journal Line Definition (JLD) for Miscellaneous transactions event class a) Query the seeded JLD for Miscellaneous Transactions event class for the Owner type Oracle to select the seeded JLDs.

b) Use Copy Definition to create a new JLD for this event class. Enter the Transaction Chart of Accounts and Accounting Chart of Accounts along with name and description

c) Replace the existing ADR associated in Rule Name column for Inventory Valuation Journal line type with the new ADR created in step1

The ADR shown here is for the Flexfield (All Segments). You can define different ADRs for each segment and can attach them here, if you would like to define rules for each segment of the Flexfield. Step4: Create a new Applications Accounting Definition (AAD) a) Query the seeded AAD for OPM financials and Owner as Oracle to view the seeded AADs.

b) Use Copy to create a new AAD. Enter the name, description, transaction and accounting chart of accounts

c) Associate the New JLD with the Miscellaneous Transactions event class and Validate the AAD

Once you have defined all the AADs, click on the Validate button to validate all the setups. Proceed further only if the Validation Status changes to Valid.

Step5: Associate the AAD with the Sub ledger Accounting Method a) Query existing the Subledger Accounting Method (SLAM) to view the existing setups.

Here, you can delete the existing SLAM defined or choose an End Date for the existing SLAM. Now attach the new AAD that you defined in Step 4.

Step 6 Now assign this SLAM to the Ledger. This would complete the setups that are needed for SLA. The ADR that we defined is for Inventory valuation. You need to create different ADRs and JLDs for the various Journal Line Types (WIP, RCA, COGS etc).

Let us now see how these accounts are picked up for a Miscellaneous Receipt transaction. Create a new Miscellaneous Receipt

The next step would be to run the OPM Accounting Pre-processor. This screen shot shows that the Pre-Processor has been run for Inventory source alone.

The next step would be to run the Create Accounting process.

You can view the SLA Accounting Entries to check if the Accounts that you defined in the ADRs have been used to create the journal entries.
