English Romanian Translator

This program can translate entire documents from English to Romanian and vice-versa. In addition, if you have an Internet connection, you can translate texts from/to FRENCH, GERMAN, ITALIAN, SPANISH, PORTUGESE, RUSSIAN (through English, using several free online translators). In order to accomplish the translation, the program analyses GRAMMATICALLY the source text, chooses the most appropriate meaning in context and then makes the necessary grammatical AGREEMENTS. You can IMPROVE the translation algorithm, by correcting the translation in terms of the chosen meaning. You can ADD your own new words or senses. In addition, this program can SPEAK both English and Romanian texts, using MS Agent. The dictionaries contain approximately 400 000 words, phrases and idioms.

How to install:
1.Erase manually the folder containing any other previous installed version ( C:\TRAD, by default). 2.Enable Multilanguage Support, Central European font support, to display properly the Romanian diacritical marks (Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Windows Setup, Multilanguage Support). Restart the system, if needed. Only for Windows 9x/Me. 3.Insert the CD. If AutoInsert Notification is enabled, the installation program is launched automatically. Otherwise, launch INSTALL.EXE 4.Install the program, clicking Instalare Translator button and follow the procedure. 5.Install MS Agent, clicking Instalare MS Agent, to enable the program to speak both the original and the translated texts (sound card needed).

Users guide:
1. Launch the program (clicking Start -> Programs -> Translator -> Translator). For English User Interface, click the English flag area, in the introductory screen. To unlock the program, click the REGISTER button in the introductory screen and send me the red aleatory number. The program is memory resident and can translate everything that appears on the Clipboard. If you want to configure it or disable it, click its System Tray icon. 2. Whenever you want to translate a text, just select it and then press Ctrl+C. The source text language is automatically detected, and the correct translation task is launched (English-to-Romanian or Romanian-to-English). In a few seconds, the translation will be displayed, or the dictionary (if you selected just one word). If a group of words could be translated together as an expression, but the program believes that it makes no sense in the context of the translation, the program will then proceed to translate the text word for word. This will be signified by the text being underlined and colored green. The reverse is true, if the program believes that the words make a phrase in the context of the translation (as the words make the appropriate grammatical agreements). In this case, the program will translate the words into a phrase/expression. This will be signified by the text being underlined and colored blue. If you agree with the translation, click the OK (tick) button, otherwise click ANALYSE (cross) button. When you click the ANALYSE (tick) button or the System Tray program icon, the main user interface will be displayed. Type the text-to-translate in the upper box or press the Copy from Clipboard button, and then click the TRANSLATE button. The translation will be displayed in the middle box. You can click on any word in translation, to see its related word in the source text and its dictionary equivalents. Choose the most appropriate meaning from the list. The program will re-translate the entire sentence, using the meaning you just chose. In addition, the word you have chosen (if used several times), will be used in preference in future translations. This is how you can TEACH the program to use the meanings that you want. Right click on any verb or noun in the translation to see its conjugation/declination. In addition, every word can be colored according to its sentence function: subject, attribute, predicate or object. You can send me new words and meanings that you have added (DIC_USER.DBF and DIC_USER.FPT files, located in the EMAIL subdirectory) or other suggestions/comments. The License Agreement: The DEMO version is fully functional for the trial period. If you would like to buy the program, you should pay EURO 30 + VAT. You will then receive the unlocking codes for all your computers. As a registered user, you will be able to download free lifetime updates.
