Dear Parents,

I am writing just to say many thanks for all the help and support you have provided
me whilst your child has been in class 3/3. The year has gone so fast and now
unfortunately comes to an end. It will be a sad day for me when they graduate from
Grade 3 but I’m sure with the progress they have made thought the year, they will
make you and me very proud in Grade 4.

Although I have decided not to follow class 3/3 to Grade 4, if you or your child ever
have any problems, quires or just wish to have a chat my door will always be open.

The final exams are just around the corner so with help from Teachers Leigh and
Scott, please find below a break down of the topics featured in the final exam.

English

Book up and away 3


Unit 1 and 2 – can and can, can and cant.
Unit 4 and Unit 10 like/likes, need/needs, want/wants
Unit 6 – too and either
Unit 11 – simple present tense verb forms
Unit 15 – pronouns
Unit 22 – there is/there are
Unit 31 – simple past irregular verbs
Contractions – I am = I’m

Maths

Mathematical signs, symbols and words. What do they mean?


Mathematical symbols – weight, distance, money and capacity.
More than, less than.
Addition and subtraction – fill in the missing numbers. E.g. 10 + z = 30 (z = 20)
Number patterns.
Simple multiplication and divisional sums.
1 step and 2 step problems
Graphs
Fraction – arranging smallest to largest, largest to smallest
- numerators and denominators
Science

Identify, categorise the characteristics between living and non-living things.


The four main groups of living things
How long we can survive without air, food and water.
The Planets, name, spell and position. Also rotation around the sun and moon.
Materials – Classification and origins.
The 3 states of matter.
Simple circuitry.

Health and Social (joint exam)

Daily health habits


Healthy and unhealthy foods.
Sexual Differences
The skeleton – labeling and identifying
Countries and nationalities
Points of the compass.
Occupations.
National animal symbol
Main election words.
Banking codes
Signs and symbols on a map
Days and dates (Thailand and the west)
