Analysis Tool: Client and SME Consultation Checklist


The following is a checklist that you could use to plan your client and SME consultations:

Analysis Tool: Sample Client Consultation Questions


The following is a table of questions that you could use during client and SME consultation:

Type 1

Sample Questions Seek a general picture of the need. Is there a discrepancy? Is there a problem? What is going on as you see it? What should be occurring? Describe the situation as it is now.

Purpose Behind Questions What are the needs? Who thinks there are problems? What should be going on? What is going on?

Seek details of the situation. Describe the need in detail. Be specific in describing what is happening.

What should be happening? In detail, what is going on? Who has the opinions? Where should attention be focused? What is their level of knowledge?

Seek proof of what learners know. Can learners do what they say they can? Do they know what they say they know? Can they demonstrate performance?

Seek feelings. How do participants feel about the topic? What are their feelings about the training or solution? What are their perceptions of priorities? What are their confidence levels?

How do people feel? How do they feel about being trained or involved in another type of solution? What is the priority of this problem or training? Is there a belief that those being trained could learn and demonstrate this knowledge or skill?

Sample Questions Seek causes. What is creating the problem? What is contributing to the problem? How have they determined the cause?

Purpose Behind Questions What is the source of the problem? What is the cause or the contributing causes of the problem? Who are the participants? Are their responses influenced by demographics?

Development Tool: Resources Quality Checklist


Use the following checklist to check the quality of any existing program resources and materials:

Is the resource current? Does the resource cover the competency standard or learning outcome(s) that must be addressed in the learning program? Does the resource provide clear and comprehensive information? Does the resource clearly identify its purpose and objective? Can the resource be contextualised to meet your learners needs? Does the resource respond to access and equity issues? Does the resource offer flexibility for delivery and assessment? If a course has been selected, do the hours and costs seem reasonable? Is the resource recognised by accredited bodies or organisations as covering the training requirements?

Review Tool: Draft Learning Program Checklist


The following checklist can be used to review a draft learning program: Program area Learners Are learners clearly identified? Are all learners needs identified?
