Another strength of our team is, that it includes a lot of different cultures: Dutch, German and Belgium. This gives us a wide perspective, and due to the fact that we want to expand through the European market, it gives us an advantage. The only concern in our company might be the fact, that only one of us has financial insight. We would like a bit of improvement on that in the team in case the only financial falls out. At some qualities, theres a person whos not good at. This will not be a problem because all these skills are present within the rest of the company.

The entrepreneur(s)
We are a young innovative team with five entrepreneurs. We all have our strengths and weaknesses but we compliment each other. We divided the work in our company according to our strengths and weaknesses. Because we do not cover all tasks we need to set up our business, we have to hire external personnel for these tasks. Marc Martens: Due to the fact, that Marc is trilingual he would be the Communication Manager. He is also very good in Marketing and is therefore responsible for the corporate identity of our product. At least he has the most leadership skills in our team and so it is the best solution that he leads this process and confers with the development department. Nadine Wijland Nadine is an excellent researcher and she will be our secretary too. She organizes the appointments and tasks for every entrepreneur. In the meantime, she is the administration who cares for invoices and bills we have to pay. She would also be in contact with Anne for the promotion film and other design things. Maartje de Langen: Maartje has a talent in the range of communication, and is the contact person for customers, who have a problem or a question and can inform customers about new offers and possibilities. Moreover, she has an organization talent and can help Nadine with this task, especially when we expand and get more customers. In the development phase she would also be the contact person for the Interaction Design and Usability Anne Drummen: Anne is a very creative team member and comes up with new, innovative ideas. Since the tasks of corporate identity development and interaction designed are already covered through the other team members Anne will be responsible for the promotion strategy as well as the implementation of this strategy into a certain design. In the beginning there will be a promotion film developed by her. Vincent Peters: Vincent is our Web and Mobile developer. He also keeps the overview of the project. Moreover, he will lead the development process. He would take care for the implementation of the Website and the App. He has experience with designing the interaction of various applications. Page 4

Citizenship
Before we can come up with a solution for an existing problem, we have to analyse a few keywords. The first of these keywords is citizenship. What exactly does the word mean for us and how do other people interpret it? Therefor we took a look at some existing definitions. According to wikipedia: Citizenship is the state of being a citizen of a particular social, political, national, or human resource community. Citizenship status, under social contract theory, carries with it both rights and responsibilities. Active citizenship is the philosophy that citizens should work towards the betterment of their community through economic participation, public, volunteer work, and other such efforts to improve life for all citizens. According to the dictionary: citizenship [sit-uh-zuhn-ship, -suhn-] Show IPA noun 1.the state of being vested with the rights, privileges, andduties of a citizen. 2.the character of an individual viewed as a member ofsociety; behavior in terms of the duties, obligations, andfunctions of a citizen: an award for good citizenship.

Even though we are looking at two fine definitions, it might still not be very clear what citizenship exactly means. Because of this we took a closer look at both definitions and tried to come up with something that could make more sense. What would your personal answer be to the question who am I? Pretty fast you will notice that you list yourself as being part of several groups or communities. An example could be your family, the soccer club you are part of or even being a student of a certain school. We see citizenship as you being part and participating in this group or community. You follow rules and respect other members, you play a certain role.

Serious Urban Gaming

The second seri of terms we have to deal with is: serious urban gaming. It is hard to come up with a similar game without knowing what we are dealing with. In order to understand what exactly is going on we analysed the different parts at first. Before we continue with our personal analysis, lets have a look at some existing definitions. According to Wikipedia: Serious Game: a mental contest, played with a computer in accordance with specific rules that uses entertainment to further government or corporate training, education, health, public policy, and strategic communication objectives. Serious Although games are meant for entertaining or fun, some contain a so called serious aspect. This aspect highlights the presence of an educational factor. A game can tell you how to react, respond or participate in a certain situation. By the end of the game a message should be clear to all the participants. Lets have a look at an example to make things clear. <example> Of course such a game has some aspects to live up to. There should be rules, goals and challenges. None of these may however ruin both the fun- and educational factor. Urban Within a serious urban game the word urban refers to the fact that the game is actually played in public places. This could be the local market place, a street or even throughout a city. There are no boards or CDs required to play such a game. All it takes is a few people who are willing to spend some time together to have some fun outside in the sun or even rain. Hide and seek is an example of an urban game. Gaming We are pretty convinced that the word gaming is not in need of any further explication.

Citizenship

Citizenship: problem!
In our current society we notice a strong globalisation. This makes there are many problems according to citizenship. Why do we or do we not belong to a certain group? Why do people look at us with a biased view? For people who immigrate these questions are even harder to answer. That is why we chose to work around this theme. Why do people abandon their families and take life threatening risks to cross borders to belong to a new group?

Tons and tons of people daily try to escape their current miserable existing life to Europe in order to start a new brighter future. A future which offers more opportunities, a better life. But what exactly is it that attracts these immigrants to Europe? The answer to that question often results in a long silence. This is exactly our point. As inhabitants of Europe we have either not a real vision of how good life is for us, or things are so obvious that we completely forget about it. The combination of these aspects makes us look at immigrants with rather pessimistic goggles. It is this feeling that creates racism and discrimination. The results of racism and discrimination are well known: exclusion and war.

Citizenship: solution!
Marketing Financial plan
Why not do something about this problem? Why would we not work on a possibility that tries to explain people what these people are going through and how hard life can be as a fugitive. It is only through understanding and communication that people will accept each other and coop with each other without all the biased ideas. With our serious urban game The Journey we would like to fight this problem using our very own strategy. The purpose is of course to get rid of exclusions and to create a feeling of awareness within the local citizens. The game will be launched at first in the Netherlands. However since the maps can be easily rebuild, the game will become available in all of Europe.

Goal The goal of the game is to get from the starting country (your origin country where you want to leave to start a new life) to the end country (a first world country where you believe you can make your future). But its a long journey full of obstacles. You will have to make choices that will determine the risk and time you will need to get to your destination. Start As you begin your game you will be given an identity. You will get some background information an a valid reason why you would want to leave your country for a better future in Europe. As you begin you will receive three passports and some starting money. Transferring borders As a fugitive you can transfer borders by simple paying with one passport to cross them. There is also an ability yo buy new passports in your starting country, because of the corrupt civil servants. You can also pay human traffickers to smuggle you over the border. As you get closer to the end destination these smuggle routes get more expensive and you have a higher chance you get find by officials and send back to your start country or pay a fine. Earning money In the two countries adjacent to your start country you have the ability to earn money. There are several ways to do so, you can make a honest living with few risks, but it will take more time. Or you can do illegal actions, such as drugs smuggling. These will pay very well but have huge chance of being caught.

Traveling over geographic obstacles There are three geographic obstacles, the sea, desert and mountains. Each has it owns cost to travel across them. Some cost more then others, but their will be less chance you get caught in these expensive travels. You will need to earn enough money to pay a guide to get you across them. The only one that you could do without a guide is the dessert, but you will need to find the oasis in order to cross is safely. Guides These are located on your map. They can help you find points of interests for a small price. They can also arrange a travel over geographical obstacles. They also can give the location of danger zones in the political zones. Traveling through political locations There are two political zones, a democracy and a police state. There is a lot more chance you will get caught in the police state, but you can buy yourself free in this zone if you have the money. If you get caught in the democracy by the authorities you will be send back to your begin country. You get caught if you trespass a danger zone. They arent visible on your map, unless you pay a guide. Fugitive hunters If played in a group, some people will play as fugitive hunters. They will be divided in in two groups, robbers and authorities. They will need to hunt a fugitive down. They will receiver every five minutes a new target, and can only catch that particular target, so they need to find them fast. Every minute the location of the fugitive will be updated on their map. If they find the fugitive they will have to come within 3 meters to successfully catch them. If they catch the target, roles will reverse. Safe zone This is an area where there is free haven. There is no passports needed to enter this zone. And fugitive hunters cant come into this zone.
