Academic Circular 3/2010 22nd May, 2010 CONDUCT OF MINOR PROJECT WORK FOR BBA SEMSTER II STUDENTS Objective Students of BBA Semester II are to write a dissertation on a topic of management assigned to him/her by his/her guide during the summer vacation. The academic objective of writing the dissertation is: 1. To inculcate the habit of self study. 2. To enhance analytical ability by reading a new topic, formulate a cohesive picture and convert the understanding of topic into a dissertation form. 3. To develop ability of extracting the material from the different sources and writing comprehensively and exhaustive report on a allotted topic. University Scheme for Project 2. As per the syllabi of BBA (Paper code BBA-211), students of Semester II are to write a minor project report during the summer vacation lay between 2nd and 3rd semester, comprising of 4 credits The minor project report has two components, viz. (a) (b) External : Project Viva (50 Marks), where viva on written report would be conducted by an external examiner. Internal : Conduct & Submission Minor Project Report (50 Marks) It involves conduct of study & submission of report, presentations & viva at the Institute.

Scope of Minor Project Report 3. Each student is to write a dissertation on a given topic of management to him/her as per the guidelines provided by your guide. Students are required to collect material on the chosen topics allotted to them from the published resources, websites and internet. Final Report The format of the minor project report is attached as Appendix-A. All students are to adhere to these guidelines. Schedule of Submission 5. Students are required to strictly follow the schedule given below:

Mid-term Review: Submission of work done in first four weeks. Submission of Draft Report to the respective guides. Discussion with guides and return of corrected report. Submission of Final Report (One hard copy & CD) to the respective guide. Viva & Presentation to the internal Committee comprising Programme Director, Coordinator & respective guide. METHODOLOGY OF MINOR PROJECT WORK

The methodology for carrying out the minor project report is given in the following headings. The length on the report is to be arranged between 30-40 pages. A 10% variation would be permissible. Each student is to compile his/her study covering the following directions as mentioned below: Heading-I Introduction: Under the introduction heading the meaning of the concept is to be explained in detail and the definitions given by various author/scholars are to be provided and examined critically. Heading-II Objectives and Scope: Under this heading students have to write the purpose of concept of their study in detail and discuss all the pros and cons (causes & effects) of the concept and its functional domain of management. Heading-III Types and Utility of the concept: This heading should provide the details of various kinds and types of concept of your study and discuss the advantages and disadvantages (if any) at length. Under this heading student can write, if any theory existing on the study of his/her concept. Heading-IV Application of concept with specified example or case study: The last heading should provide examples on the concepts of their study or they can present a relevant case study on the concept of study.

The format of the title page is attached Acknowledgements In the Acknowledgements page, the writer recognizes his indebtedness for guidance and assistance by the faculty guide and any other member (s). Courtesy demands that he/she also recognizes specific contributions by other persons or institutions such as libraries and research foundations. Acknowledgements should be expressed simply, tastefully, and tactfully duly signed above the name. The guidelines for writing the Project Report, following aspects must be adhere to: (a) Page Size: Good quality white A4 size executive bond paper should be used for typing and duplication. (b) Page Specifications:
