S tandard Mezzanine Floor Systems consist of galvanised profiled steel deck, joists, beams and intermediate support columns. Main beams span in lateral directions and joists in longitudinal directions bolted to the top flange of beams.

K IRBY provides fascias specially designed to your requirements. These can be either vertical, horizontal or with curved sheeting to enhance the architectural look of your building. Wall canopies at eaves, endwall and over doors and windows are also available.

CRANES
Buildings can be designed to support any required crane system. Generally, overhead travelling cranes up to 15 MT are supported on brackets. For higher capacities, an independent support system is provided. Crane support for overhead travelling cranes includes brackets, beams and bracings. KIRBY can also provide electric overhead travelling cranes to the required capacity and specifications. The crane package includes hoist, end carriages, bridge, electricals and crane rails.

TRUSSES
The KIRBY Truss System is one of the companys most popular and highly economical products. It is a rigid structure, ideal for large span roof systems, multiple bay buildings and as mezzanine floor framing. Significant reductions in clearances and building heights are possible by running service pipes/ducts through the trusses. As well foundation costs are reduced due to fewer columns being required to support larger spans. The KIRBY Truss System structures are individually designed to meet the specific requirements of each building and are fabricated utilizing high quality efficient fixtures. The system allows for easy erection as all connections are field bolted. Except for field splices on very large spans, no site welding is required.

Open Web Steel Joists

(Kirby offered the customer a high quality economical solution using open web steel joists in this project instead of a rival space frame option. This allowed for a cantilever 14 meters over the curved rafter)

The Open Web Steel Joist is a secondary steel truss member fabricated from crimped angles welded onto top and bottom chords. The elements of the open web joist are made of hot rolled as well as cold formed grade 50 steel. Open Web Steel Joists are used as mezzanine joists, roof purlins, among others. Advantages Offers an economical solution for long span carrying heavy load or light load compared to conventional steel structure. Allows more clearance to the building by minimizing the mezzanine overall depth by designing beam at the short direction and the joists at the long direction without increasing the weight. Ducts and mechanical accessories can be installed in between the web openings. Cambering will prevent tiles, partitions or any other delicate finishing from cracks by maintaining the finish floor level straight.

Bracings
The Cable Bracing is a primary member that ensures the stability of the building against forces in the longitudinal direction such as Wind, Cranes, and Earthquakes.

Specifications
1. Cables are made of Galvanized Extra High Strength Seven Strand Cable of 1/2 diameter conforming to ASTM A475 2003 Class 1 (G40). 2. Terminals are made of Galvanized (G40) 25 mm diameter rods conforming to ASTM A36 3. Hill Side Washers are made of Aluminum or Galvanized castiron.

Cold formed members

Secondary structural framing refer to purlins, girts, eave struts, wind bracing, flange bracing, base angles, clips and other miscellaneous structural parts. Purlins, girts and eave struts are cold formed from steel which has a minimum yield strength of 345 MPa (50,000 psi) and will conform to the physical specifications of ASTM 570 (Grade 50) or ASTM A-653(Grade 50) or equivalent.

Z - PURLIN / GIRT
Purlins and girts shall be roll formed Z sections, 200 mm deep with 64 mm flanges shall have a 16 mm stiffening lip formed at 45 to the flange.

Eave Strut
Eave struts are 200 mm deep with a 104 mm wide top flange, a 118 mm wide bottom flange, both are formed parallel to the roof slope. Each flange has a 24 mm stiffener lip.

C - Section
C- Sections are 200mm deep with a 100mm flange. The flanges are perpendicular to the web and have a 24mm stiffening lip.

Kirbys pre-painted sheeting is a multi-layer coating system to ensure long life and optimum coating adherence.

Panel Materials
The specific yield stress for steel is 345 MPa as per ASTM A792 GRADE 50. The specific yield stress for aluminum is 145 MPa as per ASTM B 209M alloy 3105 Temper H16. Other materials and thicknesses are available upon request. Kirby panel, Kirby Rib (KR) and Kirby Wall (KW) are well sculptured and stiffened to provide 1m of effective coverage area.

CONCEALED FASTENER CLADDING SYSTEMS

Concealed Fastener Single Skin Cladding Type KC
The Kirby Concealed Fastener Cladding Systems are available in two types: I) A Single Skin Cladding (type-KC) II) As Polyurethane Sandwich panels (Type-KCIP) The concealed fastener cladding systems are used for exterior wall cladding and interior roof and wall liners. These cladding systems provide an attractive architectural look for the building with a generally flat finish and no visible fasteners. If superior aesthetics are required, these panels are provided with interlocking tongue and groove joints. The cladding system is supplied complete with all necessary trims, flashing and accessories.

Concealed Fastener Sandwich Panel Cladding Type KCIP

KCIP consists of factory foamed polyurethane insulated panels with generally flat outer and inner facings. The panels have interlocking tongue and groove joints with fasteners concealed within the joints covering width of 1000 mm and thicknesses of 60 mm, 75 mm and 100 mm. The rigid polyurethane core is bonded to the steel facings by high pressure foam injection equipment. The system has very low heat transmission value, high strength to weight ratio and is quick to assemble, hence provides a cost effective solution on a wide range of cladding applications.

KRIP - Kirby Roof Insulated Panels offer long life, low maintenance and excellent weather tightness. Large panel size reduces number of joints. Kirbys high corrugation overlap joint eliminates the possibility of water capillary leakage along side joints. KRIP can be applied to new metal building construction, or even applied on a substructure, over an existing conventional roof which is beyond repair or without previous insulation. KRIP is one of the premier roofing systems available today.

KWIP
KWIP - Kirby Wall Insulated Panels are used where creation of a cost efficient controlled environment is valued. KWIP can be used as external walls for commercial buildings or industrial applications, with new metal building construction or overlaid on to existing conventional construction to produce a renovated appearance and provide additional higher insulation values. In any application, KWIPs one step installation speeds erection and reduces costs. The profile is most suitable to overshadow the fasteners.

KFIP
KFIP - Kirby Flat Insulated Panels provide the option to be used as interior partitioning in offices or accommodation or as interior insulation panels where temperature control is essential. As interior wall linings or partitioning KFIP offer highly durable, light weight, sound proof panels which are quick to install or rearrange. As interior insulation KFIP is one of the most efficient insulations available, easy to install to new buildings and an excellent choice to retrofit insulation to existing conventional construction.

KIRBY DECK

Kirby Deck panel shall have 41 mm deep major ribs which taper in width from 10 mm to 40 mm, and are spaced 164 mm on center. Additional minor stiffening ribs are located between major ribs, at 82 mm on center. Each panel shall provide 820 mm coverage.

Designed for installation with Kirby wall panel, double slide, self flashing with pre-glazed clear glass and removable half insect screen. Standard size is 1 m x 1 m. Multiple windows can be formed by joining the jamb fins together.

Welding
All welding operations are carried out in accordance with KIRBY Steel Engineerings approved welding procedures by independently qualified welders. Non-Destructive Testing
Welding Inspection & Non-Destructive Testing monitoring of welding variables like voltage, amperage and welding consumables is carried out per approved welding procedure specifications. In addition, visual inspection are carried out on 100% of each section to ensure highest quality in manufacturing. Kirby is capable of performing UT, MPI & PT as per AWS D1.1/ D1.1M-2006 requirements. Further, Kirby has the capability to carry out ultrasonic, radiography, MPI & PT if required
