Scope
Unmanned/Uninhabited Aerial Vehicles (UAV) are intelligent flying robotic systems that can assist or replace humans in hostile and uncertain environments. The strength of UAVs is that they can provide a vantage point that cannot be achieved from the ground. In particular, UAVs may provide the only means of surveillance in areas of rough terrain, where ground vehicles cannot venture easily and, critically, where human-piloted aircraft are unavailable or cannot go owing to safety reasons. UAVs also offer a wide range of possible applications in defence, civil search and rescue, environmental modeling, and space exploration. Autonomy of such vehicles requires a form of basic intelligence. This special issue aims at exhibiting the latest research achievements, findings and ideas in UAV development. Possible topics for the issue include but are not limited to:

Submission
All submissions should include a title page containing the title of the paper, full names and affiliation, complete postal and electronic address, phone and fax numbers, an abstract and a list of keywords. The authors should also mark Special Issue on Unmanned/ uninhabited aerial vehicles on the tile page, followed by the main text, references, list of figures and tables. The corresponding author should be clearly identified. The preferred file format for accepted papers is Word, including figures, tables and signed copyright form. Other acceptable formats are WordPerfect or Tex/Latex (Tex/Latex submissions must be accompanied with a PDF version). The templates are given at: www.emeraldinsight.com/ijicc.htm Manuscripts must be submitted via the IJICC ScholarOne Manuscripts web site at: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/ijicc All manuscripts will undergo a normal review process. Only manuscripts with minor modification will be accepted for publication in the special issue. Those manuscripts that need a major revision will be forwarded to the journal office for possible publication in regular issues. Original artwork and a signed copy of the copyright release form will be required for all accepted papers.
