Introduction
The purpose of conducting res. is to come out with inference and suggestions. The outcome of the res. should be well documented in the form of res. report for implementation and for future use. A res. Report or thesis is a piece of academic writing that requires a more abstract, critical and thoughtful level of inquiry than you might be used to.
Types of report:
A res. Report can be classified into decision oriented (technical) report and res. oriented report. is divided in 1) survey based res. report 2) algorithmic res. report. 1) Decision oriented (technical) report: Steps of report: 1) Identification of problem 2) Establishment of objectives 3) Generation of decision alternatives 4 ) Evaluation of decision alternatives 5) Selection of the best decision alternative 6) Development of action plan 7) Provision for correction plan after implementation of the decision 2) Survey or experiments based report: 1) Problem definition 2) Objectives of the res. 3) Res. methodology or Materials and Methods 4) Data analysis 5) Interpretation of results and suggestion or Results and Discussion 6) Conclusion Length of thesis: A thesis should be as consistent with the subject and unnecessary length may be the candidate disadvantage.
8) Appendices: Typing Instructions: Size of paper: A4 size be used, no restriction is placed on drawings and maps. Paper specification: Paper weight should be 80-90 g Spacing: The line spacing for the text should be 1.5 with the exception of the title page , declaration,.Footnotes, quotation,refrences and photographic Font size: Title page: 22 point Headings and subheadings : 16-20 Text: 12 Footnotes; 9 Use of italics; foreign words, taxonomic names, statistical symbols,Algebric variables etc. Margins: At least 1.5 inches from left edge,1 inch from the other three edges Pagination:Every page is assigned a no. The best position for the page no.is a top-centre or top right 0.5 inch below the edge. No no. on title page, decleration, res.completion certificate ,acknowledge. Allignment: Either left alignment or full justification is acceptable for the body of text. Type Style:Times new roman/Arial/Courier new Tables/Figures: Place the table /figure on a separate page immediately following the text. For numbering the recommended method is to identify each table or fig. according to the chapter in which it appears e.g 2.1 ,3.2 Tables/Figures Headings: Table headings must be positioned above the table using the same font style and size as used in the main body .Figure headings may be placed either above or below the figure depending on the size.
