@ prometric Hyderabad 3.15 Use to hover between 60's to 80's in the Aim Cats.

Went into the hall at 2 .There were some 100 people in the hall The AC was not switched on till 3.15 It was really annoying and sultry.

Attempted 21 in QA/DI 24 in VA/LR ,5 are 50:50 chances in Rc's QA and DI Time consuming section. For people who prepared well atleast 28 questions were solvable. DI I got 3 sets, timee consuming but easy kind. QA was over all moderate level. There were also good mixture of tough ones with some sitters. Donn miss any topic all topics including Functions(got two questions)

VA was a shocker. RC's were damn difficult. The options were amibigious. There were parajumbles and SC. The surprise question was " there was a set of 4 statements , 3 make a correct paragraph find the statment that is not in the paragraph" This is of the really tough aim cat standard.

Note: Use those rough sheets carefully. I spent 5min erasing due to lack of space left during LR section. 1. CRITICAL In passages with this tone, the the author analyzes something, throws light on the good bad points of the topic and at the end or anywhere in the passage passes a JUDGEMENT about the topic whether good or bad depending upon the analysis. the best and simplest way to remember this is to keep in

mind apne own bollywood critics and their articles. movie ki chindi chindi kar dete hain fir batate hain ki movie is good or bad. exactly the same happens in the passages with this tone. the main confusion of about critical tone is that it is always considered that the author will make only a bad impression of the topic. this is not true. a critic presents pros and cons of the topic and then passes his opinion depending on the factors. the opinion maybe anything; good or bad. 2. ANALYTICAL analytical n critical tones are almost the same, the most important difference being that the author does not pass a judgement about the topic and leaves it for the readers to decide. 3. IRONICAL irony is basically an unexpected event or happening which creates a comic situation but is actually a tragedy. the best example that can be cited is THE HEALTH MINISTER OF INDIA CATCHES SWINE FLU. here it may be comical that the health minister of India is ill but the irony of the situation is the underlying bad condition of the Indian health and medical facilities. there is also a term called black irony. it implies when the tragedy becomes so big and acute that the comic factor is totally sidelined. like death and destruction.

4. SARCASTIC sarcasm is said to be the tone of the extract when something is intended to be said but exactly opposite words are used to convey the same. actually something is ridiculed upon. example may be taken as A guy comes late to the class and the teacher says, "welcome man, you are bang on time." 5. SATIRICAL satire is also a kind of humoristic or ridiculed way saying something not very direct. the difference between satire and sarcasm is that satire is a way of conveying some very strong underlying message. the cartoons published in newspapers daily are the epitomes of satire. 6. JUDGEMENTAL this tone happens when the author is totally biased about the topic from the start. it may be towards good or bad. he may call salam-e-ishq the greatest movie ever or Titanic a bullshit and you cannot do anything about it. he will only present the facts about the topic which are suitable to him and his

judgement of the topic. keep in mind that the judgement can be anything; good or bad. it differs from critical tone in the way that the topic is not analysed in it.
