It is the final stage in a channel of distribution, which comprises all of the businesses and people involved in the physical movement and transfer of ownership of goods and services from producer to consumer.

Pantaloons Retail (India) Limited, is Indias leading retailer that operates multiple retail formats in both the value and lifestyle segment of the Indian consumer market. Headquartered in Mumbai (Bombay), the company operates over 16 million square feet of retail space, has over 1000 stores across 73 cities in India and employs over 30,000 people.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM


If the retailer or wont select suitable location then it effect on the business environment and the business objectives need not to fulfill. Even though the retailers commitment not into the up to the mark. They / retailers competitions also not beyond the strategies. These all factors affected in terms of sales a volume.

REVIEW OF LITERATURE

This aid takes up site selection criteria, such as retail compatibility and zoning, which the small storeowner manager must consider after making basic economic, demographic, and traffic analyses. This exercise will help you later in choosing a retail location. In picking a store site, many storeowners believe that it's enough to learn about the demographics ("people information" like age, income, family size, etc.) of the population, about the kind of competition they'll be facing, and about traffic patterns in the area they're considering.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY

Study will reveal which are important factors in customer point of view so that by adding new service elements along with providing better quality in delivering current service, difference may be created.

LIMITATIONS
The sample taken for the study was only 100 retailers and therefore, the results may not be accurate. Another difficulty was very limited time-span of the project

FINDINGS
75 per cent of the respondents said yes and remaining 25 per cent of the respondents said no about extension or modification of retail outlet. 60 per cent of the respondents said yes and remaining 40 per cent of the

cent of the respondents said no about new or modify an existing of retail outlet. 45 per cent of the retailers said yes and remaining 55 per cent of the respondent said no about the national or regional payment condition between manufacturer and retailer. 55 per cent of the retailers said highly agree, 25 per cent of the respondents said agree, 10 per cent of the respondents said disagree and remaining 10 per cent said highly disagree, about the rules ensure protection. 35 per cent of the retailers said no and remaining 65 per cent of the respondent said yes about the national or regional code applying to own label contract. 45 per cent of the retailers said clothes, 25 per cent of the respondents said home appliances, 15 per cent of the respondents said electronic goods and remaining 15 per cent of the respondent said footwear about the type of products preferred

SUGGESTIONS
Retailers should have to implement better commercial development factors, it gives to capture highest sales margin. Retailer need to be taken well strategies to setup of retail store, this leads to avoid problems or difficulties of that particular one. Government should have to take action regarding to applying of national or regional rules to payment conditions, to maximize the economy. Focus more on while codes applying the own label contracts both national this leads to maintain high brand relation. Retailers identify the real needs and necessities to easily assess the location.

CONCLUSION
Retailers need to think about shoppers not just about a format as understanding the Shoppers dynamics holds the key to such a business. Retailers would have to create new Delivery formats that can cater to the huge mass of consumers. Retailers must understand what value shopper is looking for and how the retailers can deliver that desired value to the customer. However, most retailers look for what they are offering and how shoppers can fit into retailers scheme of offerings
