Marriage Preparation Workshop
November 14-15, 2008, Friday evening and all day Saturday at
the UCC. Engaged couples and couples considering marriage
are welcome. Registration form is on the UCC website
(utcatholic.org). Click on “marriage prep” and follow the

Now is the time to join the Living Faith Society!
The Living Faith Society is a generous group of individuals and
families who contribute monthly to the UCC. We rely on this
committed income to fund this ministry on a daily basis. We've
recently experienced about a 10% decline in monthly giving
through the Living Faith Society, which represents about $1,000
a month.
We need your monthly support now more than ever! Now is the
time to join the Living Faith Society! You can do so by visiting
utcatholic.org/donate.php or by filling out a form that can be
found next to the bulletins and placing it in the collection basket.

Our 100th Anniversary Weekend Celebration!
The 100th Anniversary Weekend is quickly approaching! The
UCC will be celebrating 100 years of Paulist ministry with a
weekend of events on Saturday, Nov. 1st and Sunday, Nov.
2nd. Included in this special weekend will be 2 Masses of
Thanksgiving (5:00 pm, Sat. celebrated by Cardinal Daniel
DiNardo of Galveston-Houston and Bishop Greg Aymond of
Austin; and 10:30 am on Sun. celebrated by Bishop Emeritus
John McCarthy), a Cocktail Reception and Gala on Nov. 1st, and
a family-friendly picnic on Nov. 2nd! It's going to be a very
special weekend in the UCC's history! Flyers with more

tables and tickets are selling quickly! You can buy tickets or

Come-and-See Weekend—The Paulist Fathers
Fr. Dave Farnum, CSP and the Paulist Fathers invite you to
explore what life could be like for you as a Paulist priest. The
retreat will take place October 24-26 in Washington, DC. If

The weekend itself is without cost and there are some options
for transportation assistance. This is a great chance to explore
the missionary zeal of the Paulists and discern if it is for you.

Longhorn Awakening is a retreat held every semester.
Completely done by students for students, Awakening offers a
chance to retreat from the hustle and bustle of school and have
time to focus on your spiritual and prayer life. Come enjoy the
weekend and meet new friends. Applications are available at
utcatholic.org/awakening and are due TOMORROW! Total cost
is $35, but a $15 deposit is required with the application.
Belize Spring Break Mission Trip 2009
The University Catholic Center will be sending students to
Belize City, Belize this Spring Break, March 16th-21st, 2009.
Students will be working with Hand in Hand ministries to help
build housing and interact with the local community. It will be a
chance to put your faith in action by working in solidarity with
those in need.
Information Sessions will be held in the Saint Francis Room
Sunday October 5th after the 8 pm mass
Thursday October 9th at 8:30 pm
Come-and-See Weekend—Franciscans
The Conventual Franciscans are offering a Come and See Week-
end for single men, ages 16-40, who are interested in finding out
more about priesthood and brotherhood. Come and see how we
pray, study, minster and live together in the spirit of St. Francis.
The weekend will be held at San Damiano Friary in San Anto-
nio, October 17-19. There is no cost. For more information, con-
