Peter Macdiarmid, Getty Images for NARASAfter initial autopsy results proved inconclusive, a coroner has determined that Amy Winehouse died from consuming an extreme amount of alcohol.

The official ruling by coroner Suzanne Greenaway is "death by misadventure," and according to test results, the 27-year-old singer died with a blood alcohol level more than five times the drunk-drive limit.

Winehouse was discovered in bed at her London home on July 23. The singer had struggled for years with substance abuse, and while there were no illegal drugs found in her system, police detective Les Newman said there were numerous empty vodka bottles discovered in her room.

According to Winehouse's doctor, Dr. Christina Romete, the embattled star had resumed drinking in the days before her death, falling off the wagon after a period of sobriety. Romete also saw Winehouse the night before her death, and revealed the singer was "tipsy but calm." Last month, the 'Rehab' hitmaker's father, Mitch, had speculated that she died from alcohol withdrawal and possibly overdosed on Librium, a drug used to treat her addiction.

While Romete confirmed that Winehouse had been taking Librium, the coroner's report suggests the drug played no role in the singer's death.

"The court heard that Amy was battling hard to conquer her problems with alcohol and it is a source of great pain to us that she could not win in time," said Chris Goodman, a spokesman for the Winehouse family.

No one in my household is surprised by the findings. It's entirely consistent with what little we know about her. It doesn't make her any kind of legend worthy of a bio. She's just another sad statistic.

Silly me, for thinking the parents needed time to grieve! I just read that Mitch Winehouse has already signed a book deal to publish his daughter's memoirs. Give us a flippin' break - with all warranted respect to the dead, Amy farted on the scene for 15 seconds as a drunk and a drug addict, NOT for being an amazing musician or for humanitarian activities. Her hit - "I'm not going to rehab - I'd rather kill myself." Move over John Lennon.....Amy Winehouse has MEMOIRS from her "history" in the music scene. And Daddy is profiting off his troubled daughter's death, before her grave has even cooled-off. Where was Daddy when his little princess was still alive?

Isn't this what those who knew her immediately suspected, while authorities insisted there were no signs of any substance abuse in her system? Perhaps they postponed the autopsy results to allow the family time to grieve, but how healthy is it for them to continue to deny the truth about their daughter? Would she have been as wellknown, had she been clean and sober, and wrote songs about anything other than refusing to go to rehab?

sorry, NOT buying it, It does NOT take this long to determine that alcohol is what killed her, thay know that with one simple blood test, She was an Illuminati sacrifice!
