Description
Zonyl FS-300 is a general-purpose, nonionic fluorosurfactant. Zonyl FS-300 is nonflammable, water-soluble, and free of organic solvent. This product is delivered as 40 wt% solids in water and is compatible with surfactants of any ionic class. The performance of Zonyl FS-300 is not affected by hard water. Because of its high upper cloud point and good stability across a broad pH range, Zonyl FS-300 is an ideal wetting and leveling agent for many aqueous applications. Some potential end-use applications are described below.

Hard-Surface Cleaner
A small amount of Zonyl FS-300 included in conventional hard-surface cleaner formulations can substantially enhance the formulations wetting power. Zonyl FS-300 facilitates wetting of hard surfaces and should be evaluated at 0.005, 0.01, and 0.05% solids based on the weight of the formulated cleaner. Refer to www.dupont.com/zonyl/pdf/iandi.pdf

Applications
Adhesives
When added to water-based adhesives, Zonyl FS-300 provides better wetting and penetration of the adhesive to substrates being joined. Zonyl FS-300 should be evaluated at 0.01, 0.1, and 0.2% solids based on the weight of the formulated adhesive.

PTFE Fluoropolymer Powder

Zonyl FS-300 has the unique ability to wet even hard-to-wet surfaces, such as PTFE powder, which is used as a thickener for various aqueous or hydrocarbon lubricants. Zonyl FS-300 should be evaluated at 0.1, 1.0, and 2.0% solids based on the weight of the formulated lubricant.

Alkaline Battery
By incorporation of 0.01 to 1% solids based on the weight of zinc, Zonyl FS-300 is able to reduce the zinc electrode corrosion problem of alkaline batteries.

Plastic Film

Biodegradability Status
Zonyl FS-300 meets the definition of ultimately biodegradable as defined by European Regulation 648/2004/EC on detergents. This Zonyl product was tested by OECD 301B or 67/548/ EEC Annex V.C. 4-C method and found to meet the 60% or greater biodegradability criteria in 28 days and can therefore be considered as ultimately biodegradable.
