PREFACE This report is about the practical training attended at MANTRAC TANZANIA LTD. in Dar es Salaam.

The Practical training programme started from 16th July to 12th September 2008. The purpose of attending the practical training and writing this report is to fulfill the second academic year practical requirement and its in fourth semester. First, it provides the student with an opportunity to integrate theory and practical. The students will obtain training and valuable experience, which cannot be taught in lectures. Secondly, creation of good contacts and confidence of the would be employers or referees after successful completion of the placement. Thirdly, to the partner organization/institution which includes receiving new ideas, using good problem solving analytical skills, enjoying up to date information and having personnel who are flexible and adaptable to change and who are eager to work well in teams. Fourthly, to the University, it creates closer links with potential employers, generates more knowledge from physical visit of the institution and students reports that initiates opportunities for research, consultancy and further placements with employers.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT First and foremost I would like to thank the Almighty God for bringing me this far and for all the blessings he has bestowed on me. Most important I thank him for enabling me to write this report. My sincere gratitude also extends to Dr. Benjamin Mutagwaba, my P.T coordinator for enabling me obtain a good placement and for his unending support during the whole period of P.T. Also I am grateful to my supervisor Mr.Athumani Selemani. Special thanks also go to host organization, MANTRAC TANZANIA LTD. in this respect I extend my sincere gratitude to the finance department of the company for enabling me obtain this placement. I also thank the Human Resource Department for being very close to me during the whole period. Furthermore I thank my internal supervisor Mr. Olais Ole Lobore, without forgetting to all members of the staff of MANTRAC TANZANIA LTD. A further credit is attributed to all my lecturers from first year to now. They have done good job in inspiring me with knowledge that I used at the P.T. Last but not least I thank the loans board and family for all the financial support during the training and education and preparation of this report.
