Global Warming Campaigns Global warming is an increase in the earth's temperature due to fossil fuels, industry, and agricultural processes caused by human, natural, and other gas emissions. This results in an increased emission of greenhouse gases. Short-wave solar radiation sinks into the Earth's atmosphere and warms its surface; while long wave infrared radiation emitted by earth's surface is absorbed, and then re-emitted by trace gases. Climate changes occur in our earth's atmosphere due to a buildup of greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases can occur naturally as well as a result of human activities. Problems can occur when higher concentrations of greenhouse gases are present in our atmosphere because they have enhanced our earth's heat trapping capability. There are many misconceptions about global warming. Some believe that pollution causes global warming, but the fact is global warming is the result of burning fossil fuels, coal, and oil that release carbon dioxide. Another misconception is nuclear power causes climate change. Nuclear power actually reduces emissions of carbon dioxide when used in place of coal. Some believe that global warming means that it will become warmer all over. The name is misleading because in some places, it will actually become colder. The majority of scientists believe global warming is a process underway and that it is humaninduced. The greenhouse gases are carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. These gases occur naturally. The Earth uses those gases to warm its surface. Carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere when solid waste, fossil fuels, wood, and wood products are burned. Each greenhouse gas absorbs heat differently. If natural gases did not occur, the temperatures would be 91.4 degrees cooler than the current temperatures. These gases trap heat and cause the

greenhouse effect, rising global temperatures. Human activities add to the levels of these gasses, causing more problems. The burning of solid waste, fossil fuels, and wood products are major causes. Automobiles, heat from homes and businesses, and factories are responsible for about 80% of today's carbon dioxide emissions, 25% of methane, and 20% of the nitrous oxide emissions. The increase in agriculture, deforestation, landfills, industrial production, and mining contribute a significant share of emissions too. The gases released into the atmosphere are tracked by emission inventories. An emission inventory counts the amount of air pollutants discharged into the atmosphere. These emission inventories are used by many organizations. Global warming can affect our future ability to obtain food. As climates change, plants and animals will change, leading to a change in the eating patterns of humans. An increase in precipitation is one result of global warming that could have devastating effects. First, the quality of crops would be affected by an increase in precipitation. Second, increasing rain could lead to an increase in soil erosion. There are ways that you can help prevent global warming. Car pooling, auditing the energy in your home, buying fuel-efficient cars, and reducing the electricity in your home are ways to help prevent global warming. Government authorities can help by passing laws to reduce emissions from factories. They can also form a treaty with other countries to legally bind limits on emissions of heat trapping gases. Global Warming Campaign in Thailand Every Thai citizen are at the forefront of national efforts to combat global warming by concentrating on areas such as the efficient use of energy and energy conservation; the development of clean fuels, alternative and renewable energy sources; the design of energy efficient buildings and the introduction of new building codes. To promote a better understanding of the global warming crisis and the social and

environmental impact, Thais are hosting a series of seminars: The Impact of Global Warming and Climate Change on the Thai Tourism Industry. This is using indirect approach and formal style. The seminar series underscores the urgency with which immediate action needs to be taken by the Thai tourism industry in response to emerging world trends as well as in response to the expectations of an ever increasing number of discerning travelers who wish to be socially and environmentally responsible. It is hoped that the seminars will serve as a method prompting individual operators to adopt internationally recognized green standards and environmentally friendly practices in their individual operations. Moreover, promoting environmentally friendly green tourism activities to help reduce global warming by each participant will plant three trees near the historical park to reduce pollution around the site. The planting of trees is being encouraged to help increase forest cover and moisture; to conserve freshwater supplies; to improve freshwater resources management; and to prevent natural disasters such as flash floods and landslides, as advocated by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. And also, promoting the use of reusable fabric shopping bags and reusable bags made from recycled materials. These will be promoting through visual communication and face to face communication. Global Warming campaign in South Africa According to Times magazine, a young South African leads a group of thousand others walking in a desert in the country's Northwest province. In his right hand is a huge placard reading: "Our campaign: The end of global warming, the start of global cooling. This is a direct approach and one of South Africa's major campaigns against global warning and which is aimed at saving the environment from all sorts of pollution. This is a typical example of how everybody

in South Africa has seen the importance of fighting global warming and therefore the necessity to create an awareness to look after the environment. This campaign is considered to be an informal style and it can be promote through face to face and visual communication. Although there is still a raging international debate on this crucial subject as to whether there is real global warming and its causes, it is amazing how Africa, considered the most uncivilized continent, has grasped the concept of environmental conservation. South Africa has adopted a resolution that global warming is there, and people should look after, and conserves their environment for future generations. New environmental activist groups in which anyone who wants to get involved can join are focusing their major concern on climate change, the reasons, the consequences and the solutions, and making the transition to a low carbon future. Also, the group is concerned about the underpinning driver of carbon dioxide emissions from energy intensive industries. Environmentalists are very much concerned, and this is not only in South Africa, where governments prioritize development at the expense of the environment. Unsurprisingly, many projects have been licensed in areas where the ecosystems are too sensitive and fragile. However, the government argues that it wants to create employment and in the case of South Africa alleviating poverty by developing the economy. Global Warming Campaign in Italy Diesel, the Italian clothing manufacturer, has been raising the heat with a provocative advertising campaign, Global Warming Ready, a direct approach and informal communication style. A series of newspaper, magazine and billboard advertisements shows models posing in Diesel clothing in a world affected by raised water levels and temperatures. Global Warming Ready portrays the potential look of this new world while representing

it in an aesthetically beautiful way. The shocking effects of Global Warming are not immediately noticeable but are subtly revealed through details in the ads depicting ordinary scenes in a surreal, post-Global Warming world. According to the advertisements, its feature New York completely submerged in water, St. Marks Square in Venice filled with tropical birds rather than pigeons, the Eiffel Tower in Paris surrounded by the jungle, a flooded Rio de Janeiro, a beachy Mount Rushmore in South Dakota and Finland, once Nordic, turned into a desert.
Global Warming Ready at first glance appears to be just another fashion advertisement. On

second glance the campaign appears to be an arrogant swipe at the concerns of environmentalists. Wealthy people will continue to buy fashionable clothing even in a world affected by climatic disaster. There is still a question? In conclusion, these campaigns are not only for inspiration, but also a ringing bell for a saving earth campaign. Solving global warming will improve our lives by cleaning up air pollution while investing in clean energy, green jobs and smart energy solutions. We need to drive smarter cars, save money with energy, use recycle things when needed Save the earth, save ourselves.
