ACTIVITY PROPOSAL
2007 – 2008

(I) Activities for Self-Disciplined

1. Inter-class Cleanliness Competition


Date : December, 2007.
Target group : All students
Objective : To encourage schoolmates to be considerate and responsible by
keeping their classrooms clean.
Event : Tidiness of teacher’s desk, students’ desks, and cleanliness of
blackboard, aisle and floor will be considered in giving the
marks. There will be 1 champion for each form.
Estimated expenditure : $150 for the awards

(II) Activities for School Regulations


1. Class Regulations Design Competition
Date : In the late September
Target group : All students
Objective : To help students develop a sense of belonging and be more
self-disciplined in the class.
Event : A sheet of paper will be provided by the Discipline Prefect
Board. Each class is required to design their own class
regulations. Discipline teachers will be invited as judges. Prizes
will be given to the champion for each form.
Estimated expenditure : $150

2.. “Know more about our school rules” (Q and A Competition)
Date : In early October
Time : Lunchtime (30 minutes)
Venue : Canossa Square
Target group : F.1 students
Objective : To enable students to be more familiar with the school
regulations and further develop a sense of belonging of each
class among them.
Event : 3 representatives from each F.1 class have to take part in the
competition. Other classmates are encouraged to be present to
support their classmates.
The competition will be divided into 2 parts: “Compulsory”
and “Selective” sections. Each class is required to complete 10
questions with a time limit of 2 minutes. 20 “Selective”
questions will be answered by the classes according to their
will. The duration is about 10 minutes. The fastest gets the
chance. The questions are mainly about school regulations,
outward appearance; some of them are about the school and
common sense. There are both short answer questions and MC
questions.
Certificate and a prize will be presented to the Champion.

3. “Are you familiar with our school rules?” (Quiz on school rules)
Date : April
Target group : F.1-F.4, F.6 students
Objective : To enable students to be more familiar with the school rules.
Event : Students are required to complete a list about school
regulations within a time limit. Classes with the highest number
of correct answers will be the winner. There will be awards for
champion, first-runner-up and second-runner-up.
Estimated expenditure : $100

(III) Activities for Caring

1. Planting with Cares


Date : November
Target group : F.1-F.4, F.6 students
Objective : To train students to be more responsible and caring to the
environment.
Event : Beans and a flowerpot will be given to each class. Students
need to take good care of their plants for 3 weeks. Awards will
be given to the classes with the “strongest plant”, the “tallest
plant” and the most beautiful decoration of the flowerpot.
Estimated expenditure : $300 for all materials and prizes

2. Showing appreciation to our principal and teachers.


Date : February
Target group : All students
Objective : To show our love to our principal and teachers and to enhance
their self-learn abilities through the activity.
Event : Each class will be given materials prepared by the Discipline
Prefect Board to make flowers for Sister But and teachers who
teach them.
Estimated expenditure : $250 for all materials

(IV) Activities on Sense of Belonging

1. Discipline Logo Design Competition


Date : October
Target group : All students
Objective : To help develop a sense of belonging to the Discipline Prefect
Board among students
Event : Each class will design the logo for the Discipline Prefect
Board. Discipline teachers will be invited as judges. Prizes will
be given to the champion and the first-runner-up. The logo will
be used for promoting activities in the future.
Estimated expenditure : $50

2. Expressing Your Class in Lyrics


Date : March
Target group : F.1-F.4 students
Objective : To enhance the sense of belonging to their classes and co-
operation among classmates. Students can also develop their
talents in music.
Event : Each class will design their own song and lyrics. The lyrics
must be related to their own class. They may record their own
songs by cassette recorders. The class with the most meaningful
lyrics and lovely voice will be awarded.

3. Which part of our school you like most? (Photo Taking Competition)
Date : May
Target group : F.1-F.4, F.6 students
Objective : To develop their initiative to observe the surrounding and build
up a sense of belonging to our school.
Event : Each class will be given an envelope and they have to send one
or two students to capture the most attractive corner of our
school during recess, lunch time or after school. The
photographs captured should be put in the envelopes given and
handed in within 5 days to the discipline prefects that are in
charge. Each class will also need to write about 50 words to
explain why they take the photos. The winners (Champion, 1st
runner up, 2nd runner up for the whole school) will be awarded.

(V)Training for Discipline Prefects

1. Discipline Prefects Training Session (I)


Date : 10th September, 2007. (Monday)
Time : 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Target group : All Discipline Prefects
Objective : To help discipline prefects to get along with each other in the
group and realize the role of a discipline prefect.
Event : Orienteering
Estimated expenditure : $150 (including prizes and materials)

2. Discipline Prefects Training Session (II)


Date : December
Target group : All Discipline Prefects
Objective : To help Discipline Prefects develop a sense of belonging to
their own group and understand the importance of co-operation.
Event : Games
Estimated expenditure : $100 (including prizes and materials)

3. Discipline Prefects Training Session (III)


Date : February
Target group : All Discipline Prefects
Objective : To give a basic understanding of the role of a discipline prefect
and provide training for the chosen F.1 students who are going
to substitute the post of the F.5 Discipline Prefects.
Event : All Discipline Prefects will share their own experience about
their work during the first term.
Estimated expenditure : $150
Remarks : F.5 DP will be given a certificate for their participation in
Discipline Prefect Board.
4. Discipline Prefects Farewell Gathering
Date : May
Target group : All Discipline Prefects
Objective : To share experience among Discipline Prefects.
Event : All Discipline Prefects will share their own experience and
opinions. And certificate will be given to all prefects for their
participation in Discipline Prefect Board.
Estimated expenditure : $150
