An Easy Wine Bag

This is so easy itll practically be done
before you start! Make one for yourself
or use one to wrap a special gift bottle.
Materials:
2 fat quarters or yd. each of two fabrics
(1 piece will be for the outside of the bag and
the other will be the lining.)
Thread to match or blend
Ribbon 1 yard 1 wide
Any embellishments you may wish to add

Instructions:
1. Cut one piece 16 long by 15 wide out of the
bag fabric and the lining fabric.
2. With right sides together, sew the two pieces
together at one of the ends measuring 15
across. (This will be the top of the bag.) Press
the seam.

4. Fold the fabric lengthwise, right

sides facing each other. Sew the entire length of the bag and lining, catching the ribbon in the seam. Sew
across the bottom of the bag fabric,
sew across the bottom of the lining
half way.

5. Turn right side out and slipstitch

the bottom of the lining shut. Push
the lining into the bag. Press.

3. Open up the seamed piece and lie

flat, right side facing you. Fold the
ribbon in half and lay the fold along the
raw edge, about halfway down, of the
bag fabric.

You can embellish your wine bag in any number of ways. Here are some ideas:
Add piping or beaded trim when you sew the two pieces together (step 2)
Paint or stencil the outer fabric before sewing
Make bag out of velvet you emboss yourself (just lay a rubber stamp
stamp-side-up on the ironing board. Lay velvet face-down over stamp. Mist
and press using a wool setting until the design is embossed in the fabric.
