PROPOSED STUDY

The Endeavour Vocational and Technical Education Award will enable you to complete a Diploma or Advanced Diploma.
Please give a short description of what career you will want to pursue when you gain this qualification.

My main objectives for my future career are to train and work in Australia to get enough and qualified working experience
before opening my own private business enterprise in pastry, chocolates, or sweets production. Or taking out a franchise
business to or from either Indonesia or Australia such as Bread Talk, J.CO Donut.

Based on the recommendations of the selection panel as well as your chosen field of study, DEST will place you in an
appropriate vocational or technical education institution in Australia to complete your qualification.

PERSONAL STATEMENT
This statement should be a narrative giving a picture of you as an individual. It should deal with your personal history,
influences on your intellectual development, the educational and cultural opportunities (or lack of them) to which you
have been exposed, and the ways in which these experiences have affected you. It should not be a record of facts
already listed in your application. Please provide your response below, in no more than 500 words:

I am very grateful that I am given an extraordinary opportunity to be able to apply for the Endeavour Vocational and
Technical Education Awards, which will enable me to undertake study in Australia. I have currently been facing difficulties
in searching for scholarship, which offers hospitality of patisserie courses.

This course will bring many benefits for me, my home country, Indonesia and also Australia. The awards will help to
improve my education as an Indonesian. It will also help me to further develop my knowledge and skill in hospitality of
patisserie. Since my neighbour owned a small bakery house, which sells cookies and cakes such as wedding and
birthday cakes, I get interested in patisserie productions. I kept on visiting her almost everyday from morning to afternoon
just to steal her knowledge; like the cooking process starting from how to mix the ingredients thoroughly until the process
of baking such as setting the temperature and timing it. And I’m given a great chance to take a month training in
patisserie production in one of the famous local five-star hotel, Savoy Homann Hotel. Since then, I practice making my
own cookies and cakes at home.

This course will also enable me to start a professional career in patisserie to upgrade and enhance existing knowledge
and skills such as modern and traditional patisserie production techniques, decorate cakes and cookies, using basic
methods of cookery, organize and prepare food like cakes, pastries, hot/cols desserts, and chocolates, working together
in socially diverse environment, lead and manage people etc.

Besides that, my main objectives for my future careers are to work in Australia to get enough and qualified working
experience before opening my own private business enterprise or taking out a franchise business to or from either
Indonesia or Australia such as Bread Talk, J.CO Donuts. In my opinion, taking out franchise is the way of avoiding many
of the risks involved with starting up a business. By operating under the name and logo of a well-known company,
franchise business has much greater chance to success. By opening a private business enterprise or taking out a
franchise, means that I have to be able to meet the resources needed for the production to take place such as land,
labour, and capital. There are many benefits Indonesia and Australia could get from these businesses. Indonesia gets to
reduce its unemployment rates and extra income from tax-paying for using up the government land and other natural
resources. Also, the capital in terms of the infrastructure, machinery, and equipment needed to produce the goods which
bought from Australia and of course, the Australian engineers who have to maintain and keep control of the machines.
And taking the basic and raw material from Australia because the raw material available here are not of a high quality
material and rather expensive.

have the potential to become leaders in their field and will be well equipped to represent
their country abroad in both a professional and personal capacity. It is envisaged that
they will make a significant contribution to their country on their return home.

Our objective is to establish the Endeavour Awards as a prestigious scholarship

programme and showcase the excellence of Australia’s education sector. The Awards
will enable scholars and professionals from around the world to undertake study,
research or professional development in Australia and allow Australians to do the same
abroad.

In preparing your Report on the attached proforma, you may find it helpful to take into

those of their home country;
