Hello Everyone, SAP Practice Newsletter, PULSE, April 2008 Edition received good feedback, comments and suggestions from all of you. This second edition for May 2008 will provide updates on the activities we have completed in May 08, activities we are currently working on as a team and provide highlights on the activities that are planned for in future. Organization/ Practice Updates Accomplishments Initiatives
In Intelligroup, we started many eSOA initiatives in April 2008 and we also take pride in stating the significant achievement on SAP selecting Intelligroup as the Finalist for the Pinnacle Awards 2008 in the most coveted category: Enterprise SOA Thought Leadership for Services Partners. As these initiatives have just begun, we are still in process of developing more talent and participation for this practice and encourage the interested aspirants to come forward. The following ESOA Champions have been nominated from respective practices so far: Oracle Practice: Suresh Matkar, Neeraj Ramani E-business Practice: Gopalkrishna Sattiraju Murthy, Diwakar Mahanthi Testing Practice: Amarnath Varanasi SAP Practice: Feroz Khan, Lakshmi Munnungi, Venkat Marni, Arvind Neelakantan, Ajith Nallari, Sameer Shadab, Prasanna Gollapudi, Ashutosh Mutsaddi, Satish Ananthakrishnan This list is expected to grow continuously and rapidly in the coming months as we solidify the practice initiative and its activities going forward.
We are actively working on establishing the training and demo landscape for SOA Middleware, Composition & Modeling Tools and Business Process Management engine with business rules etc. from main product vendors such as SAP, Oracle & Microsoft. Venkat Marni from NetWeaver Practice has already completed the SAP PI 7.1 training available for ramp-up partners. We will seek his help and conduct internal training sessions to reciprocate that knowledge across SAP Practice. Marketing & Alliances Team conducted the first Analyst briefing with Ian Finley from AMR research on March 25. The second one was conducted with Paolo Malinverno from Gartner who focuses on mainly SOA Governance. We validated our thought process on the ESOA initiatives at Intelligroup and had received a positive feedback from both on our directions & thought leadership in this area. eSOA teams are actively working with Logistics Practice to enable the SOA based application: Transportation Management 6.0 within Intelligroup internal landscape. Arvind Neelakantan is managing the eSOA aspect for this initiative. eSOA Awareness session was conducted for all the Sales/CSEs in the past. Now we would like to leverage our internal e-learning platform to more effectively educate our field forces and make sure everyone understands the basics of SOA
The Bengaluru SAPNTW team had organized a team outing team which comprised of HR and SAP team members (Jiby, Maninder, Aditya Divakar, Shiva Krishna Nagaraj, Bhaskar Shah, Kundan Jha) on 24th May, 2008 at a beautiful resort in the outskirts of Bengaluru. This was a fun filled day with over 80 associates of the SAP team participating in the event. The activities included team building activities like mini Olympics.
Basis Practice had many competency related activities in May 2008 and following are some important ones: Q2 Training calendar published for the practice. This is a combination of Advanced Basis, NetWeaver, Security and Data Management courses designed to keep our consultants up-to-date on these skills. Training sessions were conducted on SAP Upgrade, GRC Compliance Calibrator, Microsoft Duet and Enterprise Portal and were well attended.
The monthly SAPNTW Practice meeting was held on May 27, 2008 at Hyderabad with about 90 associates. We also had celebrations of birthdays and service anniversaries. A quick update on the NTW practice and SDN-top contributors was presented. The meeting ended with the Managers of SAP throwing Technical Nuggets to the team and a Q&A session.
Finance Competency had a major push and activities on sales offering around CPM. Both onsite and offshore team members from Finance practice participated in this initiative. Sales force enablement presentations will be made in the month of June 2008 to all sales regions. Following are some of the competency initiatives that Netweaver Practice teams worked on. ABAP Intelligroup Certification Program (ICP) Review and Re scoping. ABAP Reusable Code Catalogue (RCC) Solution Tracker Completed - On track EP MOSS Interoperability Solution Offering 60 % complete - Development is on track PI EDI Accelerated Maps Development on track RFID/AII evaluation : Identified and Contacted Partner for Readers and Tags integration The xMII competency has planned its first demo and th training on May 24 for the Practice Team. Lanka Murthy would be conducting a SAP Portal session th for the Joy Mining team on 28 May. The Portal demo for SRM is completed by the Portal Competency team which involved the SRM Business Package and enabling SRM Analytics. The Portal competency leads are involved in the AIF/GP project being delivered for HTI.
companies in North America. A 2-day Data Management Workshop was conducted for CIBA vision to lay down a roadmap for their Archiving/DaRT implementation. SAP BI Practice completed multiple Sales awareness sessions on BI service offerings with Midwest, Southeast and North East teams. Meetings with west coast and strategic accounts were planned in June. During these interactive sessions, we covered the services, market potential & dynamics, overview of SAP BI Business Objects roadmap and our approach. SAP BI Practice has completed 3 new service offerings for SRM Analytics, SCM Analytics and AMS. The AMS offering was used for CIBA vision and Sara Lee sales meetings. Knowledge Transfer trainings on Retractors from R/3 was completed, New trainings on Outlooksoft and Xcelcius Dashboards was scheduled on May 30th. Workshop on Duet : SAP BASIS and SAP Duet teams are in the process of setting up an internal environment to conduct Duet workshops internally.
Proposals in Pipeline Major Paint Manufacturer. Intelligroup had a face to face meeting with IT team to discuss about their upgrade plans from v4.7 to ERP 6.0 (ERP Instance), Upgrade ECC 5.0 to ERP 6.0 (SAP HR Instance) and possible upgrade of BW v3.5 upgrade to BI v7.0. Intelligroup need to propose a complete Upgrade roadmap considering Unicode in scope and carry a Upgrade assessment. Largest Gelatin Capsule Manufacturer. Intelligroup had a face to face meeting with client to discuss the upgrade proposal submitted for v4.7 upgrade to ERP 6.0 along with Unicode. Based on the discussion we need revert with the commercials for the Upgrade along with some clarifications required. Eastman, TN Estimates provided for SSO and NWDI, customer accepted and scope is being finalized. Professional Consulting Co. Potential ABAP Development opportunity to staff multiple positions for ABAP development. Customer is a SAP service provider for European clients like Airbus and they intend to use our services (FTE) to manage their growth in India development center.This lead came to us from SAP AG. Tire Manufacturer, OH Presented Intelligroups capabilities in GTS, xMII and MDM. Team is working with sales team in Midwest and also customer to finalize on next steps. Polymers Manufacturer.VA Customer is planning to have a customer Portal project that would leverage SAP Portal and CRM. Intelligroup is working on understanding the requirement and responding to the RFI on this upgrade assessment work which will be taken up immediately in the next one or two weeks. Basis and Unicode capability presentation was done for a Major Pharmaceutical Company in NJ, Cleaning equipment manufacturer in Midwest and an Automobile manufacturing

Subramanyam Rachapudi (HYD) is handling the training and is expected to complete the training this month. Finance Practice is planning to conduct second batch of training next month.

Projects delivered successfully
Magellan France Roll-out this project went live successfully. We have delivered this project in record time of 4 months. Hatsoff to all team members. This project was led by Rahul Bhosale with team members Bhushan Kommaraju Satya, Boopathi Thangavel; Chandra Sekhar Atakari, Gunasekhar Bhavanasi, Kalpana Tyagi, Krishna Rao Kothlapuram, Kumar Subramanian Arcot, Mahesh Babu Srikakollu, Moosa Haroon, Padmanabha Raju Upendram, Prasad Pendse, Sameer Rahim Shadab, Sivaramamoorthy Puligandla, Sreenivasulu Gurijala, Sujani Medabalimi. Amcor R/3 Upgrade Successful upgrade to ECC 6.0 on time with in budget. This is first upgrade project we have executed with SAP America. Customer is highly impressed with our deliverables. The project was led by Krishnan Mahadevan with team members Badrinath Gadamchetty, Surya Seemakurty, Shalini Tripathi, Abhijit Mallik, Raja Bathula, VinayaKumar Gyara. Successfully completed SRM testing project at Convergys, Bangalore We have successfully completed the SEM-BCS and BPS implementation at Momentive Performance Material (MPM), this is our first end to end implementation of SEM-BCS and BPS. Sekar Tiruchanur was instrumental in making this project success with timely delivery and smooth transition to their closing cycle. Carrier Inc project went live in May 2008, Carrier is part of UTC group. We implemented GL, AR, COPA, PC and CM as part of this project. Gustavo Gordon was working on this project for close to 18 months, his expertise and capabilities were highly appreciated by the client. th BMS upgrade project went live on 27 May, they upgraded their system to ECC6. Intelligroup provided resources to help in upgrade especially in the testing area. Sridhar Vasudevan was part of the upgrade team and worked close with the client team in making the financial system error proof. T-Mobile archiving project went live along with their Dart implementation, we are now working on their SAP upgrade project to ECC 6. Thanks to the effort of Vipin and Srinivas Bandi we were able to complete the project on time. Successful delivery of this project is going to help us with some additional projects at T-Mobile. Successfully completed the Convergys DuPont testing. We were working on HCM testing that is being done from off-shore, We have close to 10 consultants working on this assignment. We have gone live with Belco upgrade project, this is our first Upgrade project that was delivered completely from offshore. With the help of this project we can look forward to more and more such upgrades that can help reduce the cost to the customer. KSB India's REL-2 (Release-2) roll-out project kicked off in Coimbatore. KSB India's Rel-1 was for Pune and Rel-2 involves Coimbatore and Nasik plants of KSB. The modules involved are: FI, CO, SD, MM, PP, QM, IM, ABAP. The project is expected to go live on 31st March/1st April 2009. Second phase of Travel management reporting project at Apple Vacations was started for multiple locations. Ramkumar M and Pushparaj Laxman were recognized by client for their efforts. First phase of BI sales reporting at 2wire is scheduled th to Go-live on May 30 , 2008 Completed the Harrow eLearning project Lundbeck, Denmark: Went live with one of the first duet implementation project.

Joy Global BI Upgrade: This effort is focused around upgrading the existing BI system to BI7 in Joys complex landscape. This is an active project and has its own challenges around change control. Joy Global Proof of concept for Unicode conversion: This involves providing an idea of the complexity in enabling Unicode within the existing 4.7 system. This proof of concept will lay the platform for the actual remediation and testing effort going forward.
Radisys Upgrade: This ECC 6 upgrade project is a new win and would be executed based on the onsite-offshore delivery model. Europackaging UK Support Package Implementation: This was a new win for us in implementing support packs and our HotPac Analyzer Tool was leveraged extensively for this. HADCO, KSA, ECC 6.0 Implementation Project kicked off. This will be the first implementation in Poultry Industry in Saudi Arabia. The scope of the project is: FI, CO, MM, PP, PS, SD, PM, QM, Basis, and ABAP. The team is led by Natarajan Namasivayam and comprises of Subrahmanya Sarma Tadikonda (FI), Krishna Mohan Sarma MV (PM), Murali Krishna Jonnalagadda (SD), Chakrapani Koosam (QM), Subrahmanyam Reddy Kandati (CO), Kali Naga Charan Upendram (PP), Krishna Rao Paidipalli (PP), Anandamurthy Ramachandra (MM), Uma Maheswara Rao Gobbaka (PS), and Sahabuddin Syed (Basis). Order to Cash EDI Dashboard project was also completed at Magellan Navigation. Following eSOA projects are currently in various stages of delivery. SNC 2007 for GE Fanuc. This is one of the greatest achievements for Intelligroup. We have implemented SNC 2007 while it was in Ramp-up. Team had to go through lot of challenges to make the system work. SAP has released over 100 OSS notes based on our inputs during this project.

SAPs Acquisition of Business objects has started coming out with multiple joint offerings. . Packages from SAP and Business Objects leverage the expertise of two leaders in the enterprise software industry to produce offerings unmatched in making employees more self-sufficient in a constantly changing work environment. At the same time, these packages empower IT organization with a strong and agile infrastructure, so that it can become a strategic partner of the business by focusing on the intelligent use of information.
