Wow.was the word that came out of my mouth when the credits rolled.

Man, now I understand why this movie received so many Oscars nominations, 13 to be exact! David Fincher aced this movie like nobodys business as this movie can be one of the best directed movies to hit the screens. Taken from F.Scott Fitzgeralds short story of the same name, transcribed to screenplay by Eric Roth, this movie tells of a story of a boy, born as an old man and begins to age backwards. Benjamin Button suffered from this as he meets the love of his life but due to his reversed aging process, unable to be with her. Reunited and married during their mid-lives, they were forced to separate once again as one is aging normally and the other in reverse. His naivety and innocence persisted throughout the film, right to the very end of his life. A beautiful masterpiece beautifully directed and was one of the first movie to both film and feature New Orleans and the horrific Hurricane Katrina. War references made the plot more meaningful as we sort of grow with Benjamin. The artistic touch of an alternate narration between Benjamin and Daisy gave us a real insight into the characters minds. Just as Bens journal entries end, we lost track of things because, like Ben, we simply didnt know. As touching and heartbreaking this movie is to watch, the film had its fair share of funny moments as well, witty dialogues of Captain Mike and the struck by lightning scenes provided the audiences with the much needed laugh amidst of the sea of emotions surging through this epic film. Filled with A-list actors and actresses, this movie is a shining gem on top of an elegant, slick, handsome and priceless tiara. If you think Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight is the best, you aint see nothing yet! Brad Pitt shone in this movie like a giant spotlight in a Super bowl game and he kept on shining throughout the film. This could be his first Oscar Best Actor win! He broke the convention by allowing his face to be CGI-ed to an aged man, something an A-list celebrity wouldnt do. Hidden behind the severe spotting, wrinkling and sagging skin, Brad manages to capture and embody the emotions of Benjamin Button to the tee. Keeping his chiseled, handsome face, he charmed his way with his character and the emotions he evoked stirred an emotional storm in my heart and are sure to leave you mesmerized. His on-screen chemistry with Cate Blachett is explosive and these two could easily be the most famous onscreen couple after Jack and Rose from Titanic. This could be the best moment in Brads career. Cate Blachett..I had a hard time digesting her character because her initial impression on me in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls were still imprinted in me but her performance in this film erased any of those doubt. Cate had indefinitely proved that she can handle all possible roles given to her and nail it big time. Her elegance, beauty and remarkable acting brought life to the film along with Brad Pitt. Nominated as the Best Supporting Actress, Taraji P. Henson who played Queenie (Benjamins adoptive mother) is worth mentioning and her genuine emotion when she found baby Benjamin was heartwarming. If I were to credit everyone in the movie for their performance, this review will never end! EVERYONE did their VERY best in this film and the result is a masterpiece crafted by these talented people under the direction of a wonderful director. EXCELLENT! Oh boy.dont get me started on the soundtrack. Manthis film has one of the most enchanting, haunting and touching original score ever in a film. Composed by Alexadre Desplat, the music plays right into the emotion of the film and can provoke a tear or two from the audience. The haunting theme of Benjamins piano piece summarized Benjamins life in a flat C tone in final scene. Its like watching a sunset, beautiful and at the same time sad. I would recommend the soundtrack to everyone, even though you didnt watch a movie; this work is worth a listen.

All in all, this movie is an epic masterpiece. Drawn to perfection by the artistic hands of David Fincher, painted by Eric Roth with meaningful, exhilarating and excellent dialogue, enacted and spoken by a troupe of talented and magnificent cast of actors. A definite MUST-WATCH and hence, deserve a 4 and a half star out of five for me! And may this film garner a sweeping Oscar win.
