Invitation to the Tampines GRC Table -Tennis Tournament cum Ms Irene Ngs Table-Tennis Challenge Trophy

Introduction: Tampines Changkat CSC will be organizing a Tampines GRC Table Tennis Tournament, one of 13 competitive sports event for Tampines GRC Games 2011. We are pleased to invite your CSC to the above tournament.

Competition Date and Venue: The competition date will be held on Sunday, 23rd October 2011. The duration of the competition shall commence at 11:00am to 5:00pm. The competition venue will be at Tampines Changkat Multi-Purpose Hall (Level 1). Light refreshments will be provided.

Composition of Teams and Match Format: Each team shall consist of a minimum of eight players inclusive of at least one (1) female player and three (3) veteran male players. At least four (4) of the players must be Tampines residents. There will be five matches comprising of the following categories: Mens Single Mixed Double Mens Veteran Single (age 45 and above) Mens Veteran Double (Both players must be 45 years and above) Mens Open Double There shall be no repetition of players for each tie. The tournament shall be played in a round-robin format with each team playing the other team once. A point will be awarded for each team match won and none for a lost. The team with the highest point won at the end of the round-robin contest shall be declared the Champion while the team with the second highest score shall be the first runner-up and so on, so forth. * All participants must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents, with Singapore Blue Identity Card. All participants in the tournament are encouraged to consult their medical practitioner prior to competing in the tournament. The first match shall commence at 11.00 am. Participating teams are advised to arrive at least 30 minutes earlier for warming up and registration.

Rules and Regulation: The rules and regulation of the tournament shall be according to the Singapore Table Tennis Association. The outcome of this competition will have a bearing on the total score, as well as the position of each CSC in the Tampines GRC Games.

No points will be awarded for a walk-over. We hope that your CSC will participate in this Table-Tennis tournament and help make this annual Tampines GRC Games a successful annual event. Thank you very much and we hope to have your support.
