1.Introduction
This document explains how to integrate a Citrix server into the EURCTXFarm Citrix farm.
2.Procedure
Log on to the Citrix Management Console.
Select Zones, locate the server you are configuring and click on Set Preference:
Make sure to define the server it as Not Preferred and click on OK:
The last thing to do in this step is to delete the old zone. First check that there is no server in the
zone, then select it and click on Remove zone:
Click on OK to confirm:
The next step is to downgrade the feature release level from 3 to 2. To do this, right-click the server
and select Set Feature Release Level:
Then, you have to configure the load evaluators. First delete the existing ones: to do this, select
the server in the left pane and go to the Resource Manager tab:
Select any other server in the left pane and right-click any line on the Resource Manager tab.
Select Properties:
Choose Select individual metrics, tick all the configured Metrics on the source server and select the
server you are configuring. Click on OK to replicate the metric configuration:
The next step is some configuration on the server itself; therefore you need to log on to the server
with administrative rights.
Double-click the ica-tcp line and select Client Settings in the Edit Connection window:
Make sure that the following permissions are applied (and only these):
EUR: CTXFarmAdmins: Full Control
EUR: CTXFarmUsers: User Access
SYSTEM: Full Control
Select Users and click Remove. The screen should now be:
Reboot the server (do not forget to put the server in maintenance mode to prevent unnecessary
tickets from being created).
When the server is back, go to the Citrix Management Console and publish the desktop on this
server for the Citrix administrators. Take one of the existing published desktops in the Farm
Management folder, as an example.
