1.Introduction
This document explains how to integrate a Citrix server into the EURCTXFarm Citrix farm.
The audience is GC staff, more specifically Citrix administrators.

2.Procedure
Log on to the Citrix Management Console.
Right-click the EURCTXFarm farm and select Properties
Select Zones, locate the server you are configuring and click on Set Preference:

Make sure to define the server it as Not Preferred and click on OK:
The server will now have a red triangle:

Select the server and click on Move Server:
Click on Yes when the following window pops up:

Select Data Center as target zone and click OK:
The last thing to do in this step is to delete the old zone. First check that there is no server in the
zone, then select it and click on Remove zone:
Click on OK to confirm:
Click on OK to close the EURCTXFarm Properties window.

The next step is to downgrade the feature release level from 3 to 2. To do this, right-click the server
and select Set Feature Release Level:
Select level 2 and click on OK:

Then, you have to configure the load evaluators. First delete the existing ones: to do this, select
the server in the left pane and go to the Resource Manager tab:

Right-click one of the lines and select Add/Remove Metrics:

Click on Remove All Metrics:
Click on Yes to confirm:

Click on OK on the Add/Remove Metrics window:
Select any other server in the left pane and right-click any line on the Resource Manager tab.
Select Properties:

Click on Apply to other servers:
Choose Select individual metrics, tick all the configured Metrics on the source server and select the
server you are configuring. Click on OK to replicate the metric configuration:

When the replication is finished, click on OK to close the window.
The next step is some configuration on the server itself; therefore you need to log on to the server
with administrative rights.
Go to Start – Programs – Citrix – MetaFrame XP – Citrix Connection Configuration:
Double-click the ica-tcp line and select Client Settings in the Edit Connection window:

Define the settings as per below screenshot:
Click on OK on the Edit Connection.
Right-click the ica-tcp connection and select Permissions:
Make sure that the following permissions are applied (and only these):
EUR: CTXFarmAdmins: Full Control
EUR: CTXFarmUsers: User Access
SYSTEM: Full Control

Right-click the rdp-tcp connection and select Permissions:
You should get the following screen:

Select Users and click Remove. The screen should now be:
Click on OK to close the window and save the new settings.
Reboot the server (do not forget to put the server in maintenance mode to prevent unnecessary
tickets from being created).
When the server is back, go to the Citrix Management Console and publish the desktop on this
server for the Citrix administrators. Take one of the existing published desktops in the Farm
Management folder, as an example.
