Thank to the God, thank to the committees and thank to the audiences here, I say.

Well, Last night, I saw the opinion in one of social networking from my friend, he is a students president now, and he said that democracy is waste in this era, and democracy is wasteful era. For that post, many students gave opinion about his post, pro and contradiction. He has reason that democracy is the way to choose the leader, and decide the solution for the problems with voting mechanism. He thinks that it is bad way, where a good solution or good leader is not chosen or provided by mechanism like that. For example, if there are 5 bad persons and 1 good person, and they are instructed for choosing whether alcohol is allowed for drinking. So, we can guess that the decision is alcohol is allowed for drinking. We can see that democracy is not good for this case. Alright, if we see and say like that we must give the other solution for the politics system that can make good condition without democracy process. Democracy said that peoples voice is the Gods voice, and three items that are still believed by Indonesia People: government of the people, government by the people and government for the people. It means democracy allows people to manage, and execute all of procedure that made by government but production of the rule and procedure is authority given by the people. I think it contrasts with my opinion from the result side. I see the problem from process side, and I hope I say the correct thing that can make democracy that we held since 1945, is the way of life in Indonesia. And now I will explain why I choose democracy as the right way in Indonesia today, and what the result from this system. The first reason, democracy will give bad result when we can not manage the moral and condition in a country. Why? Government has authority there, and has rights to manage, organize and make a good rule or procedure. Sometimes, government is the actor who often makes fault here and people give the critique easily. This mechanism can not be found in monarchy system. So, from the process of managing and organizing people, in moral, mental and knowledge, government has authority there. The multiple is Gods divine and awareness of the society must be established in viewing the difference. Democracy allows the difference growth and assumes that difference is the good resource to develop country with many kinds of idea. The plurality is utmost important to Indonesian people as rich nation viewed from ethnic, culture, language, religious, and natural resources. Plurality in Indonesia is suitable with democracy system. In democracy, there is term called as deliberation or I can say musyawarah. Musyawarah or deliberation is allowed in democracy system, and it is the first step to choose and decide the decision before we take a part in voting. So, the wrong opinion is appearing if someone assumes that democracy is developed by calculating the most chooser. Voting is not the first

mechanism to decide the solution, but deliberation is the first step that must be done before we can not decide with it. In leader election, may be it is the problem that my friend disputed. Why the competence of the leader is not number one in there. Why the most choice is the winner. Is the winner is good or reputable leader? They ask like that. The election system in democracy is not only for the party. The quality of the people determines who will be the leader in there. So, we can say that election is the efficient way to summarize the voice of the people. Election shows how participation the people can make their country better. Nobody wants to see the country to be worse. Everyone wants to see the best leader, good country and the most important is democracy can make people forget the thought of achieving anything by any method. We hope democracy is not tool to get the authority, but democracy is the process that must be realized by the people as the process to make Indonesia better, in the future. Thank you.
