Zephaniah Chapter 1 (YAHSHUAS Anger & Wrath) PM: Welcome to The Shepherds Chapel and welcome to this family

Bible study hour. Zephaniah being translated means hidden of YAHAVEH, or he who YAHAVEH has hidden, and it has to do with his elect. His elect are supposed to be sure enough and to have faith enough to know when GODs wrath comes forth, hes not angry at them. This would be about 520 b.c. and it would be the last before the fall of Assyria and you might say the captivity. Zephaniah, chapter 1, verse 1.

Zephaniah Chapter 1 verse 1: The word of the LORD which came unto Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hizkiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah.

PM: Hizkiah is misspelled it should be Hezekiah. You got about four generations there. Verse 2

Zephaniah Chapter 1 verse 2: I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the LORD.

PM: Now this of course is future. Hes going to give it a sweeping so to speak. We know exactly what this is talking about as it states in 2nd Peter Chapter 3 verse 10 when the evil rudiments (elements) will be removed, which means all evil will be gone. Hes going to consume everything that offends at his return. Verse 3

Zephaniah Chapter 1 verse 3: I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumbling blocks with the wicked: and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the LORD. PM: Everything thats evil will be consumed and GOD will cut off the wicked man. You must understand were looking forward to the LORDS Day (which is to say when the 7th trump sounds). Then we will be right in the Millennium, and there is going to be discipline, and nothing that offends. In fact the first day of the Millennium every knee bows to Messiah, which is to say CHRIST. Verse 4

Zephaniah Chapter 1 verse 4: I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests.

PM: Remember, GOD will stretch his hand upon Judah (not just the 10 tribes). Father is talking about the old black robed priests here. There will be no more false preaching or teaching, GOD gets rid of them. Thats why you want to make sure what you teach is The Fathers Word, and what you pass on is edifying. Your teachings should build up and make a person better for having absorbed The Word of GOD. Verse 5

Zephaniah Chapter 1 verse 5: And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the LORD, and that swear by Malcham.

PM: Be real careful with this verse. Who are them that worship the host of heaven? AngelsAngel Worship. Youre not supposed to participate in angel worship, especially fallen angels. Theres only one Father and

you dont go worshipping anything other than him. He is the creator of all entities of the whole host. And them that worship and that swear by the LORD, what is this? People will worship angels call in the name of the LORD, which is totally perverted and sick. What is that swear by Malcham? Hopefully, know Malcha means king and cham means idol. People will swear by GOD but will allow idol worship right into their religion and worship. Whats sad is this happens right before The LORDS Day which the false one is cast to the earth along with his host of heaven, the fallen angels (nephilim): and they will be courting people of the world. Thats why we have the hidden and thats why Zephaniah is so important. Malcham is also a form of moloch worship. Verse 6

Zephaniah Chapter 1 Verse 6: And them that are turned back from the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor enquired for him.

PM: Its apostasy, theyre worthless. They dont take time to value he who provides. How do you think Father takes that? Do you think that makes him happy? If you leave Father out of the equation, you better not hope to expect blessings. This is called apostasy to those that are ignorant and untrained to worship anything supernatural because they never read the Word of GOD. Verse 7

Zephaniah Chapter 1 Verse 7: Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests.

PM: Thats our subject, hes coming. Do you have time for him? If you dont have time for him, he doesnt have time for you. Verse 8

Zephaniah Chapter 1 verse 8: And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD's sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king's children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel. PM: Did it say maybe? No, it says it shall come to pass. It doesnt matter who you are, or what tribe youre from. Do you remember the wedding story in The New Testament, where the man with strange apparel says let him go to hell? What apparel are you supposed to have on? It is the gospel armor of course. Do you know what the belt of your gospel armor is? It is the Word of GOD. Verse 9

Zephaniah Chapter 1 verse 9: In the same day also will I punish all those that leap on the threshold, which fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit.

PM: This is and old metaphor idiom meaning the house that sends their servants out to steal from other houses and bringing them into their own house, like religious artifacts or sheep. The servants of melcham, you dont want in your house. Those that down others to get ahead themselves. Verse 10

Zephaniah Chapter 1 verse 10: And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a great crashing from the hills.

PM: What hill? The Mount of Olives. Have you ever read Zechariah Chapter 14? When CHRISTS feet touch down on The LORDS Day it rents an opening and provides a way all the way to the East Gate to prepare a way for GODS people to take over. This is the city--its the

gathering place of the crowd. Do you know what the gathering place means in the Greek tongue? Its Megiddo. Its where Armageddon takes place, which is the place where satan is going to gather his troops for war. Verse 11

Zephaniah Chapter 1 verse 11: Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off.

PM: What does Maktesh translated mean? It means mortar. Do you know what kind of mortar? Its where theres a hole in a stone and when you put grain on it and grind it and crush it; and ye inhabitants of that crushing mortar where GOD is going to do a little bit of thrashing and shaping up. What does all they that bear silver are cut off mean? It means it isnt worth anything. The things you consider valuable of this earth are worthless in the next age. The only thing you can take with you is your works (documentation Revelation 14:13). Verse 12

Zephaniah Chapter 1 verse 12: And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.

PM: What time? Its The LORDS Day. Settled on their lees means, settled in their sin. You know what kind of people were talking about here? An atheist, someone perhaps that didnt even believe the LORD appeared. Verse 13

Zephaniah Chapter 1 verse 13: Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.

PM: In other words were so close to the end that theyre not going to have to enjoy it. Verse 14

Zephaniah Chapter 1 verse 14: The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.

PM: Near is mentioned two times for emphasis. The only strength is The LORD, which even makes mighty men cry because He is All Powerful. Father is where get our strength to overcome and have victory. All Mighty GOD is coming with a big stick of recompense. Its called a rod of iron. Verse 15

Zephaniah Chapter 1 verse 15: That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness.

PM: Does this frighten you? It shouldnt. Why? GODS is not angry at you. This is towards his enemy. Verse 16

Zephaniah Chapter 1 verse 16: A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.

PM: How many trumpets are there? Obviously, 7, well which trumpet sounds on the LORDS Day? The seventh Trump. After reading Zechariah 14 you will know why the towers shake a little.

Zephaniah Chapter 1 verse 17: And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung. PM: Does that frighten you? It shouldnt. You should know and understand. Thats only for people that hate the LORD. The ones who love the LORD are definitely not blind. Verse 18

Zephaniah Chapter 1 verse 18: Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

PM: No one is buying their way out of it. Those who give the LORD a reason to be jealous better be praying. These are the ones who totally ignore him and dont care about him. Our Father is just going to sweep them out. It will be a day of rejoice for those who love him. What makes him jealous? Those who whore after false gods and idols, such as the false christ and the fallen ones.
